Hi, this was on June 28th, 2005 outside Ocean Way Studios in L.A. after the final night of mixing for A Bigger Bang. I purposely wore my Stones tshirt from Vredenburg, so I would not be confused with some of the professionals trying to get Keith to sign guitar scratch plates and so on.
The Stones were using 3 different studios to mix the album and a friend of mine discovered them at Henson Studio about 4-5 days before this photo was taken. We got Mick to sign for us from behind the fence there on 2 occasions, the first time of which I wore this same tshirt so Mick would know we were fans. He signed 3 each for me and my friend and a few days later he signed 1 more each for us. On this night pictured in the photo, my friend drove by Ocean Way and saw some cars, so he got out. He saw Mick walk out and hoped for a photo but he wa son his cell phone and just got into a car. He then called me up and I raced over there a little before Keith came out. Keith had a few of his guys come out before he did and they could see that we were ok and they told us that Keith may sign for us. Keith then came out and was as cool as could possibly be. He signed for us and we each got a photo with him.
One thing I remember well was how coherent he was when we talked to him. He was very sharp, not at all like the Keith you seen sometimes speaking in interviews. Notice also how he's dressed pretty much like a typical person, without any of his usual pirate styled clothing. It was a fantastic night that was then capped off by Don Was coming out after Keith left. We talked to him about the new album and he then went to his car. He then rolled down his window and asked if we wanted to hear something. He said "you're the first people in the world to hear this" and played us She Saw Me Coming which he they had just finished mixing that night and had burned onto a cd for him to play in his car.
