Wal-Mart is the ultimate evil empire. This company is more motivated by greed than all others. The Walton family has ruined what was once a decent place to work. They are taking everything they can from the people that made them the success they are. Salery caps, part-time status for all new employee's,horrible insurance, unsafe working conditions, understaffed work force,no merit raise, trying to do away with our bonus, the list goes on and on. They won't even run the AC on 3rd shift, and some people have nearly had heat strokes. This company is so cheap, they are cutting costs everywhere they can. They won't even order styrophome coffee cups anymore. Many people that I work with are being cut two or more days a week. I could go on, but just thinking about the place makes me sick.

This is turning into a "I hate Wal-mart" thread. Don't they sell guns as well?

My advice is go work for somebody nicer.

Sounds simple, but I can't start a new job. I'd be losing money, so I have to deal with the bastards. Its very depressing to realize that you have to stay on sinking ship. Wal-Mart is going down, it will all come crashing down on them.

I heard a little something about Coca Cola having guerillas working, and killing, for them in a certain 3rd world country. If that's true I'd say that they are just as evil.

Coca-Cola is accused of "drying" some water sources in India too
You know, I read that to make a litre of Coca-Cola you need more than a litle of water...but anyway off-topic

And somebody has said before that student life is the best and sure, but I have an exam the 26 and I'm thinking more in the concert in San Sebastian the 23rd...

Also, have you ever think about the best job in the world? Being a Rolling Stone? or it isn't?

I have never, and never will, do any of their chants. The discount is 10%, and doesn't apply to food, alcohol, or cigarettes.Bummer.

temporarily unemployed from Hell Foo-, i mean Whole Foods Market. i just had the most surreal farce of an interview i've ever had today (after years grinding away for the company). i'm so peeved i can't even go into it now.

rather very daunted by the prospect of making even LESS $ by switching careers at 40 without a degree, but at least in DC there are lots of progressive/activist/advocacy/watchdog-type places in the non-profit, private and gov't sectors. and that, besides music, is my big interest, so we'll see. but now it's guitar time and blues.

very interesting and varied iorr joblist so far!

Chin up, Winter. Forty is still young. This could be a blessing in disguise.
