Chuck about Werchter (from blog) + tour rehearsals

Interesting bits and pieces:

I’m in the final stages of coming to an agreement to do a solo tour here in Europe after the Stones tour ends. This would be in mostly all in Germany and one date in Austria (with a slight possibility of more)
That means to me that the Stones tour won't go on to Asia...

“I’ll Go Crazy” (James Brown song that I had suggested we do which made it into the set)
Thanks, Chuck - nice addition to the setlist....

The set went well, but not without some glitches. Mick and I had suggested “Only Rock and Roll” for the “rollout” to the B stage…it worked fine, but it took Keith a while to get to the intro as the song came right after his two numbers and he likes to change his shirt and take a moment before the next song. We may have to address that somehow, as it made for a slightly awkward gap. There was the same problem coming back…we tried “Paint It Black” after the “rollback” to the A stage…after “Honky Tonk”…and again, it took a little time for Keith to kick in the intro. But I liked the flow in general. We’ll see how much of it we might have to change. One of the highlights was “Can’t You Hear Me Knocking”…nice groove, good solos. “Some Girls” was fun if a bit raucous…but that’s the nature of the song. “I’ll Go Crazy” worked great from my perspective…well played and well received. The other tunes were fine, but no doubt we’ll perform them better the more we play them. In general it was a good kick-off, and things will definitely be tweaked and improved during the course of the tour. Nice to have good options!

The next day, the 7th, I made my way back to the gym after laying off for a week or so. My neck/shoulder problem had flared up after my first few workouts and I needed to give it some rest…but this day I felt like it was time to get back in action…at least a little. It served to improve things…I felt less tired and more energetic
Always good to know how the man is working out!

Soon part 2 about the rehearsals!

Well it's what bloggers do, if they intend on writing a diary.

I'm looking forward to the rehearsals entry. Will they have been angry on that first day, when noone of the 'principles' except from Charlie showed up?

Meanwhile, let's just enjoy the energy of this:

(OT).

interesting: "the icon songs" is the term he uses for what people around here call "warhorses"

It's all about being positive, I guess. Myabe we should all take a bit from that particular page of "his book".

There really is a bad vibe on this board at the moment, everybody accentuating the negative and neglecting the positive - instead of the other way around.

And it really has been getting to me, lately ;-)
