I have followed the stones for over 20 years. How dare they charge over £150 for just one ticket which does not guarantee that you will even be close to the band ( some of these tickets are at the back of the arena and they stll are this price). What a rip off!!!!!!!!!!!!! For the people on this forum who will tell me to not go, I say to you all, shut your noise, I've earned the right to have a moan. I have followed this glorius band all round the globe. I will not and can not justify giving Mr Colh and the Stones my hard earned money. I would rather see a upcomming band and give them my money. It's not like the boys need the cash, maybe keith for a new hair piece and jagger for his penis enlargement, Ha Ha! I feel better now.
Well I paid less than 80£ for my ticket for the Copenhagen show this coming August and they are not the cheapest seats. But still the price have gone up quite a bit since the last show :-(
Welcome as well. There's several more of you on this board so perhaps you can all have a jolly knees up and swap stories together over a babysham or two?
I have a family and am far from rich. I have seen the Stones three times in my life (1989, 1994, and 2002). I would love to see more shows, but we all set our priorities. I content myself with DVD's of the tours I missed. Many people here see them several times each tour. Good for them. They can either afford it or place them higher in their priorities than I do. To expect the band to charge what they did thirty years ago when their pricing is comparable to their peers is hardly realistic. I certainly wouldn't turn down the money if I had the talent to command it and I suspect no one else would either. Is it expensive entertainment? Yes. Go if you can, if not, there's a new DVD box set and another DVD on the way by Christmas or early next year. You'll be able to find them for less than the cost of a concert ticket and they'll last the rest of your life.
Why should we have to sit at home and watch dvds. By charging these prices the Stones have turned into the establishment, so only the rich can go enjoy there shows. By the way I @#$%& hate babyshames!!!!1

Well, if this one is a reply for me, you've misunderstood what I wrote :-)
If you can't afford to go to the shows, that's your problem. They have the right to set whatever prices they please and live with the consequences of what that means for ticket sales. So far they seem to be doing pretty good. If that's too high for you may consider getting a new job or focusing on cheaper entertainment. I don't go around bitching about Lexus because I can't afford their cars.

All the quotes from moaners like you begin with this sentences: I am a huge fan, following them all around in the world in the last 10,20,30, 40 years, blah, blah, blah. Anyway who do you think is interested a declaration of yours like that? You don't go to shows anymore, that's all right... If you are a real follower, as you stated, you can find a lot of places in this tour where you can find cheaper general admisson tickets and you can be very close to the stage if you have two legs. General admission tix: Werchter 80 euros, Nijmegen 90euros, Budapest 60-70 euros, FOS: Brno 60euros. Paris cca. 100? euros etc....

"Ablette will you buy me a ticket???????/ or does does mummy and daddy pay for it for you?"
Unlike me ol mucker 'ginger' (tad unfortunate eh.....) I can spell "Ablette" and I reply to this board whilst working unlike in 'Gingers' case where he's hard at his homework!
The stones charge what the market dictates. If its too expensive, no one will go. If you can't afford it save up or get a paper round?
And no svendborg I wasn't replying to you. Just a very slow typer.....

This is totally correct...they have the right to be elitists if they choose too. In fact, they have the right to be jerks, racists and many other terrible things. However, that isn't really the point...clearly the point is over your head. The poster never mentioned if it was within their rights to charge horrible prices for bad seats, a point you do not understand. While I have seen the Stones about 40 times and can afford the tickets, I do find that there is no more Fanfare for the Common Man...only elitism. Further, the "fans" at MANY of the shows here in the US do not seem to be fans at all...just people who want to be seen at the Stones gig, or to say they went. For many here, that seems to be just fine...but let's not hear any more out of them about any "Salt of the Earth". Prince Michael Phillip Jagger? Yeah...that sounds about right these day...
i don't like the prices, but i can face facts: every time i've bought a ticket at face value, i've demonstrated that there is a market for tickets at that price. so what sense would it make for me to whine about the pricing when i'm one of the ones who's supporting it?
i wish the Rolling Stones were my local pub band, but they're not.

good on him, then! and directing animosity toward anyone who pays face value is consistent with that stance, although it's a bit of a roughshod entry to these fine boards.
i wish the Rolling Stones were my local pub band. but they're not. dammit.

Well. I don't want to knock anyone, the Stones or the other people here, but the ticket prices have gone up quite a bit over a few years. This is the prices for the concerts in Denmark: 2003 510 dKr. 2006 595 dKr. 2007 850 dKr. Whether the increase is too much everyone has to judge for himself. 1 Euro is 7.45 dKr.
and at Frankfurt they were selling tickets for 0 - 25 euro (sic!). that's progress, right? and it wasn't caused by people paying face value and bitching about it at the same time; it was caused by about 35 000 people refusing to pay face value. [raising a glass to the salt of the earth]
dammit: i said i wish the Rolling Stones were my local pub band - and they're still not. why isn't it working?!?

I don't like the prices. But i like dictionaries. My dictionary says that there isn't any sense of "rip off" if you have the choice to avoid it. OK?
And, please, don't play this childish game anymore. Everyone who deslikes EVERYTHING the Stones do is "a huge fan" since 1933. Ten years before Mick's and Keith's birth.

In 2003 they sold all the tickets within an hour. Last year they sold 84.500 tickets the day the sale opened. This year they're running TV-ads right now months after the tickets went on sale.
However, I don't mind if there's 50.000 people at the concert, 30.000 or even 10.000, as long as I'm there with my friends and the Stones, it'll be great for me :-)
JK Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > Btv does anyone know the number of tickets sold in > Denmark?
No, but rumours say there are plenty left, that would explain the TV ads. But I would believe that 30.000 are sold, but don't really know for sure. Still a problem when they usual sell out in hours.
i don't personally support the stadium thing because i don't want to see a concert in a baseball stadium...and i won't shite on my own cultural and spiritual values by giving half a grand (a grand if i take a date) to see darryl and lisa and nine people who aren't the stones...and a couple who are, who only show up for work every other gig or so, for a bit... so that's my take on it...yeah they're greedy...over the top...
i, not without some wistful sadness, but also not without a sense of liberation, walked out on sw tour at l.a. coliseum and was given the tickets for free!!! still got the hell out of that drunken, uncomfortable noisefest...but they were playing real rolling stones records from the real periods on the radio, so we had a great ride home, once we got away from the actual stones and the bad sound in the giant cement sardine pit. i'm not star-struck...i care about good music period. and no rock music is worth half a grand for a two hour oldies show...and often a sloppy one. i get off on loving them and seeing them loved up by fans...but i really wouldn't care to have a dinner or conversation with any of them, except maybe charlie, and i'm pretty sure we wouldn't have to talk...just go look at the horses or sumpin...that i'd be in for...the 'oh mick!!!' oh keiiiitthhh!!!' stuff; i just don't care. glad i saw them when rock was real and so were they... sure i still love the band, and feel connected to their music so much... but their spectacle has backfired, perhaps not financially, but as far as the 'wow' factor of a cement mini city and disney on ice stuff, borrrinnngggg... i understand a lot of people paid a lot of money for 'beatlemania' broadway show years ago....("not the beatles but an amazing simulation!!!")...and felt somehow, they were part of something they had missed when it was real...but they were not...not really...i skipped that too...
