Somebody attended that concert, or have pictures to share ?

Thanks open-g, and BV,
yes it's the same tour apart from the bottom right pic
Vancouver is easy to identify, as Keith was wearing a strange coloured sweater
Here's a pic from Harold Colson's site

I think its' strange to see Keith standing on the left side of the mic and Mick on the right side. It's usually the other way around. I guess Jagger was just running about the stage and wound up over there.

or the photo could be reversed. that happens often.

Not in this case, because the guitar is pointing in the correct direction.

The reason is that Keith was on Taylor's side of the stage in Vancouver, and Taylor was at Keith's side, for the whole show.

You're kidding? Ya know I was wondering about that, and thought about asking if that was the case but figured it wasn't very likely. I knew the photo's weren't reversed because if they had been, it would have looked like Keith was playing guitar left handed. How did you find this out Erik?

Some pics shows this uncommon setup.

Yes, quite uncommon. Anybody ever heard of any other concerts where they did that?

Good question, I also like to see a complete list of that, it'll be a short list though

So do I! It's a shame that they couldn't hear how out of tune the guitars were. By Chicago they were in tune.

Wasn't Vancouver where Mick threw Keith's black leather jacket into the audience? It didn't appear again until Norfolk on 5th July.

Wow! Very strange and interesting stuff! Wonder why they did this in Vancouver?
Keith has always been on the right side of Mick even going back to the earliest tv with Brian, hasnt he?

Yes I can't recall seeing Keith on anything but the right of Jagger, apart from here

Great shots.

You asked for those that had been there. By some strange fate in my small office of about 50 the guy two cubicals over went, the guy next to me was outside trying to get in and chased by police horses. Myself I made it to five back dead centre, somewhere in the shadows of these color shots, just to the right, dirrectly infront of mick.

In the second color shot you will see what looks like a rainbow coloured shirt. This is the approximate position of the guy who recorded the boot was standing in, holding a fair sized cassette player over his head.

One cute story by the other office guy who made it in. His freinds were on the floor trying for better position. From a distance they thought they spotted a cleared area near the front and started strongarming there way to it. They could see it coming and made the final push into the opening, proptly slipping flat on their butts into the pool of puke someone had left. You have to love a Vancouver croud. I recall having to drag my feet leaving the front of stage area because if you lifted your feet you would step on a bottle and go for a ride.

Thanks for the story, Des. Rough cops there in British Columbia...!
That Vancouver recording sounds a little better than it used to do; on the latest DAC release....I think anyway

Thanks Erik....now that shot may have me in it.

Actually the cops had a tough night of it. The concert had a couple of problems working against it. First the rival gangs in the area who just had to disrupt something big they were not a part of and second...if my recollection is right...this may have been the first show I am aware of where people lined up overnight for...may be big now but I don't recall anybody doing this before...problem was it created this new problem...disgruntaled fans. So there was this underlying thinking you just may be able to just show up and storm the doors...sounds like an activity the Stones would endorse...Eh?

All I know is the anouncer inside kept saying there was a riot outside and the Stones were going to put on an extra special show so we could go outside and tell the rest what they missed. All I saw was plywood up over broken doors, a couple of burned cop cars (molitov cocktails) and clips of cops being taken to the hospital with bricks to the head. Of course my folks thought I was going to die but were surprized to see me in my bed the next morning.

The cops aren't rough it's who they have to deal with.

That is a strange set of pics that OpenG has. Neither one IMO is from Vancouver.
The bottom right is clearly not from 72 but Europe 71.
The bottom left has Jagger dueting with Stevie, which did not even start until Detroit (I'm pretty sure). The main pic has Keith in his usual 72 clothes, Jagger all in white. That whole picture looks too festive to be from early on Vancouver too.
