"the drums...they're still a challenge"
There are some whom we admire not only for their work but for the way in which they carry themselves. Men like John Coltrane and William Burroughs come to mind. Artists and gentleman. Charlie Watts, playing drums for the Rolling Stones across two centuries, may be counted among them.
Through the decades he has served us, with that wry smile, in his three piece suit, behind a standard four piece set up. He has provided us with the beat we have danced to since 1965. He has been dependable, modest and hard working. We wish him well and thank him for all his fine work and for the way he has carried himself. Happy Birthday, Charlie. Gentleman drummer.
