This is from the imdb forum:

>>What happened after the credits?!

The ending scene started out with a little boy running to a clif singing 'Yo Ho, Yo Ho, a pirates life for me'. There's a caption that says' 10 Years Later'. Then you see Elizabeth catching up to the boy. He is obviously her son. They both look out to sea and sea the sun setting. There's a shot of Elizabeth's face and she's smiling. THen you see the Green Flash. She and her son look at each other smiling. Then you see a shot of the Dutchman with Will on it, hanging off the side, smiling (rather sexily, I might add). Then theres a shot of Elizabeth and her son standing at the cliff watching the Dutchman come closer to the island.<<

I saw the movie last weekend at the Drive Inn! Don't laugh! Yep, here in the States we still have drive-inns and they're a gas. In fact because my stereo has a halfway decent audio system, it sounded a lot better than being in a stuffy cinema house. The only problem is that I brought my 5-month old son with me and my wife and I think the movie gave him nightmares (because of the intensity of the soundtrack). Nevertheless I loved it. So what if it was a little long. I enjoyed following the story. Keith to me reminded me of when he wore that eyepatch in the R&R Circus in 1968. The recent Rolling Stone interview is a lot of fun as well with him and Depp. Here's hoping they make another one! The sets and costumes alone are Academy Award material for sure.

thanks for that series of screen shots, Open-G, honey -
the silvery look to the guitar in the 9th & 10th shots would be where that one review
got the idea that they screwed up and had Keith playing both "a guitar and a banjo" -
the "special defects" was cute, but of course they were mistaken.
but i wonder why he didn't use the "turtle-shell" instrument except as decoration

as i read some post here about the film it was obvious somebody is concerned about the "holes" in the story.

for me the whole theme : "pirates"
is clear to understand:
what are pirates fighting against?
they are fighting against the imperium,
its military and the whole repression it is doing

some people don't understand that fighting against the imperium
doesn't mean to have no codex at all
pirates do have a codex.
it is clear that KR is the perfect actor -
because his credibility - to play the one pirate holding the codex.

I mean: who needs an imperium?
only the ones who take profit of the rules and laws of the imperium.

maybe the poor story of Pirates of the Caribbean is the only way
the filmmakers can express their dissent with imperial policies.

which review was that? can't recall reading it - but there are so many.

>> the "special defects" was cute<<
you mean the missing tuner?
maybe he wanted it 5 string for open G.
and yeah, it's a shame the turtle guitar didn't get some airtime

>> you mean the missing tuner? <<

i meant the reviewer who used the term "special defect" to describe what s/he saw as a mistake in continuity -
a banjo replacing the guitar, that is, which didn't happen. i'll see if i can find it ...
here it is: [www.iorr.org]
