I cant imagine that there would just be audio tracks to studio stuff on a DVD.

considering all the cool covers of this tour, i thinkn were in for a real treat. It feels like Christmas!

I'm 100% sure those 6 songs are no new studio songs.
They will be the covers, I'm quite sure. I already read somewhere that the Marley cover and Mr. Pitiful is on there, it would only be logical if two other ones are Bob Wills (the whole song was performed, with sssoul!) and Learning The Game. Night Time from Rio will likely be another one. The 6th one is perhaps Hurricane, then.

Hurricane was released on CD though which would be a format...I think Hurricane's out.

Unlikely as the Stones probably dont own the rights to it. Its already available anyway, as part of the official DVD release of the game itself.

No chance of that. If they were 'new' material, its probably some utter tosh like 'Extreme western Grip'. For a band who have released 22 new songs in just under a decade, theyre not going to waste 6 new ones by putting them exclusively on a DVD.

just an observation

My friends and I were @ Zilker Park Austin. The Bob Wills song was fun to see, and Mick did a great job of singing and playing guitar. It seems like I read somewhere in the press, that they rehearsed this song backstage for the first time before the show to add it into playing Austin, Texas for the 1st time ever.

One of my friends commented how well Mick did, that he didn't seem to reading a teleprompter for the words.

If it is indeed true that Austin show will a significant part of the DVD, bring it on, can't wait...

That show was probably the best concert I have ever been to, and I've been going to shows since the 70's.

Wasn't the making of Hurricane available somewhere? I seem to recall watching it...maybe on RS.com??

As for the superbowl, you're probably right Gaz, they probably don't own the rights, which means I'll still have to pick up that stupid DVD.

what about the eddie vedder duet? i saw him in pittsburgh on wild horses and it was great. eddie show up at any other shows?

plus, to those who declare they are not going to buy the new dvd. you don't have to, you can always steal it.

smile: this is so confusing - i meant one of the "six never released on dvd", of course.

could be New Orleans footage with the song as the audio - something like they did with Waiting on a Friend.
or not. we'll see - and meanwhile i'm glad we're intrigued.

No, not on this tour. Pittsburgh was the only one.

Oh, there it is: the DVD. Thanks for the statement.

If these "6 songs never released in any format" were indeed studio recordings, I'd love to hear them with another 4 added as a new album - or hey, why not put them out as an EP? I know EPs are considered passe by businessmen, but mini-albums are always a real treat.

Yes, that's the expression. Reminds me of Peter O'Toole (playing Alan Swann) in "My Favorite Year":

Sy: He's plastered! (referring to Swann)
Alan Swann: So are some of the finest erections in Europe!

Hilarious, thanks for the link mr rnr.
