>> looks like the same as Rome: seated pitch <<

it's not a seated pitch in Warsaw, Wild Slivovitz -
it's a field-type show with small stands added at the sides, just like last year's cancelled show.
it's a bit smaller venue than last year - but not that much smaller.
if they were asking 110 euros for reserved section A seating, i wouldn't be overjoyed
but it wouldn't be anywhere near as outlandish as doubling the price of a standing section of a field.

had I not already committed to 6 other shows this summer and had taken so much leave off work, I would have.

Whizzair flys Belfast-Warsaw from early July and I can get a return flight for £54. Very tempting indeed, but I'll have to pass, I'm afraid.

rs.com replaced Kiev with Warsaw, Sluzewiec Hippodrome.

Thanks franzk, that's good news.
And sorry to everyone for my rude words before but I was really pissed.

I know many people who would go to see The Stones if not for these prices. They are for hardcore fans or really rich people unfortunately. Probably not too many young people in FOS.

That's what I'm afraid of. Thanks to the prices FOS will be filled with middle-aged people in suits and ties. And younger fans will be in back sectors. Doesn't it remind a bit of Warsaw 1967 when front rows of Kongresowa were filled with the party members while kids were screaming at the back?

Yeah, it is looks the same in many ways. Only now there will be capitalists not communists.

Huh...yeah it looks frightening.

Although I'm attending a whole lot of gigs this year, I'm still thinking seriously abput those FOS tickets. The main factor that is keeping me in 215zl sectors is my girlfriend ;/ who doesn't want to pay the price....

Love the way theyve just added Warsaw to the itinerary and deleted Kiev as if it was never there in the first place. No story that it was cancelled or anything.

>> [These prices] are for hardcore fans or really rich people <<

we all know real hardcore fans who can't afford these prices -
which is not unique to Po' Land of course, but it *is* hard to be singled out
as the country to be offered one concert for the price of two.
for crying in the dust: they call us Po' Land because we are so po'! so what is this promoter thinking??
i know there are other cities where the prices have increased from last year,
but i'm pretty sure that the prices haven't *doubled* anywhere else since last year, have they?
maybe they have at some venues where reserved seating has replaced GA, but not for GA.

the only price that i know doubled were the on-stage tickets in the states between fall 2005 and fall 2006: $250-$500 (695 PLN-1389 PLN)!

NME are also just saying that the Stones have added a show in Poland to the European itinerary. Nothing about cancelling Kiev.

Yeah, this is very true. What I meant is that those prices are not for casual fans who at normal prices would go see The Stones. Only hardcore fans will consider buying those tickets but if we can't afford them and most of us in Poland can't, hardcores won't go eithersad smiley.

But I think the show will sell, but there won't be fans but people in suits. And that's of only promotor's interest. They don't care who buys the tickets.

in case it's helpful to anyone: Viva-Art's just informed me that the b-stage will be "at the intersection of A[L]/A[P] and B1/B2"
here's the seating chart again (courtesy of FranzK):

I'd have been there like a shot but unfortunately the show falls on a date that'll see me on holiday in the Pyrenees.

Have they by any chance informed you why B2 sector is more expensive than B1 sector? That's a real riddle to me.

I would definitely have gone - it would have been perfect after Brno. I'd looked into going to Kiev and then St, Petersburg but - not having a private jet at my disposal - it was too awkward to fit Kiev in and I'd have wanted to spend more time there anyway. So I decided instead to hang out in St. Petersburg after Brno, I saw that airfares were increasing so I bought a non-refundable non-exchangeable plane ticket to St. Petersburg about TWO HOURS before the Warsaw rumour was announced - and for what date? The 25th. Boy, was I pissed off.....

i asked about that, but they didn't reply - maybe it's a typo? i hope so.

Beast ... ow, i'm sorry! i did something a lot like that real recently too, so i know the feeling.
but - there there! - you don't want to support this promoter's sick pricing policies anyway.

I must call them tommorow. They don't bother to reply to my e-mails.

BTW: Does anybody know what's the distance between the main stage and b-stage? Is it a fixed distance or can it change depending on size of the venue? I wonder if I buy a 'B' ticket and find a nice place near b-stage whether I have good view.

Re: Official announcement in Poland today

>> what's the distance between the main stage and b-stage? <<

it depends on the venue.
i have the impression that normally the b-stage is within the non-FOS area, so if it's going to be adjacent to the A sectors,
it seems like it's going to be pretty close to the main stage (if you see what i mean!)
at least i hope they're not thinking they can make an unusually large FOS area at these prices

Re: Official announcement in Poland today

Yes, the distance varies so if you buy a B section ticket you're up for a surprise, either good or bad.

Different prices in B sections are not a typo. I've seen the video from a press conference and that's how they are priced.

However there might be a "typo" in that picture. Maybe the B's are not on the sides but the more expensive one is closer to the stage and the cheaper one is more away. Both touching tribunes on the sides. But if the b-stage is supposed to be "at the intersection of A[L]/A[P] and B1/B2" then my concept is rubbish.

It might be also that the cheaper one is somehow bigger which is not visible in the picture.

I haven't really been following this thread because I'm not going to this show, but I get the impression that the ticket prices are out of all proportion as compared to other shows ... is that so ? So how much more expensive are they, and why ?

Well, FOS costs 415 PLN which is about 110 EUR. It is not horribly expensive if you compare this to prices at other shows but for Polish salaries it is a lot of money. It's as if German standing FOS (if there was one) would cost 300 EUR.

Ouch ... I see what you mean. So why is this ?
