Remember that in Chorzow with the same organiser the price for FOS was 199 PLN in 1998. The same as in Brno now and Germany at the time:/

i remember the FOS in Chorzow having nowhere near enough people in it;
i also remember the Stones not being real happy with the promoter.
(writing to them can't hurt!)

I'm really taking this under consideration right now, since the prices are WAY UP HIGH. For the price of Warsaw FOS I can have Brno FOS + all the travel expenses. Viva Art is really willing to hurt the people's wallets.

Plus they didn't even mention the high price FOS tickets to the media yesterday at the conference. Tricky...

I will write them to show my concern. However I don't think they will change the prices no matter how ridiculous they are I'm afraidsad smiley. No wonder The Stones were unhappy with the promotor. The Ronnie's side FOS was completely empty until 7.00 pm. I only remember about 4 people in it including the Ono's. But it did not have anything to do with the prices. Those tickets were not distributed at all. People couldn't get any tickets days before the show anywhere and at the stadium every section was available. And telling people on Telexpress the week before that the show is sold out did not help either.
Correct me if I'm wrong, that's how I remember the situation. I'm just wondering why they did not sell left FOS at all. It seemed they did not even sell it at the stadium?! Later it filled up with people with tickets for other sections.

I didn't think I'd live up to the day when I'd say "Live Nation - I salute You". With them, everything is official from start to finish, their website is always up-to date and ticket prices are very reasonable.
For example, for any non-polish people who are reading this thread, let me give you a hint

Rolling Stones 2007 FOS ticket price - 415zl (over 100Euros) - Viva Art promoter

and now...Live Nation/former Odyssey

Rolling Stones 2006 FOS ticket price - 220zl
U2 2005 GA - 150zl
Linkin Park/Pearl Jam 2007 GA - 110zl
Red Hot Chili Peppers 2007 GA - 115zl

And with Viva Art you still have no information about the gig on their OWN website www.vivaart.com.pl, no confirmation about Warsaw show on RS.com...LAME

Honestly, I do understand that it's last-minute show and I'm happy the Stones ARE coming to Poland after all, but the promoter is setting prices unreasonably high. Brno tickets are 50% cheaper...

Oh, and please don't get me wrong, I didn't bitch about any ticket prices in a long, long time - I do understand the promoteur needs to earn on the show so they can organise more shows. It's obvious and clear. We all do want to see more stars in our country.
But those prices are simply crazy...with all the respect;/

OMG - this is a riot.
I also wrote to Viva Art,
it costs nothing but might even help, so
whoever feel like writing the link is given above by with sssoul

btw, I heard on the radio Stones sign a deal for 150 minutes on stage, what would mean the setlist would be longer than last time, right?

make that 110 € - thats even more expensive than Frankfurt.
that's if you don't take the friggin' membershit fee into account.

415 Polnischer Zloty = 110.696 Euro
415 Euro (EUR) = 1555.83 Polnischer Zloty (PLZ)

Do they require a platinum mebership whatnot?

Well, my ticket for Hamburg was 416 including the shipping, 10th row, A2. Comparing to that those prices are ridiculous. I think they're counting on business people whom a lot of live in Warsaw. It is just a cost of one party for them and it will be fancy to be seen at the concert. The higher the price the better for them actually because it is more fancy then.

if yes - than we have the same deal as in Chorzow - FOS full of people in suits, having "fun". Hope this won't happen.

First I thought 415PLN is the price which includes membership, than 100USD is approx. 280PLN, so ticket price itself is 135PLN. But this is not the explanation for sure, because what with 165PLN tickets than...

>> Well, my ticket for Hamburg was 416 including the shipping, 10th row, A2 <<

which is different from a GA situation, where you're paying 415 (plus postage, whatever it is)
to occupy whatever space you manage to claim and defend.

meanwhile, you're right about the FOS tickets at Chorzow not being available at all before the show -
i got mine at the box office at the stadium on the day, after i managed to sell the tickets i already had
in order to raise the money for the FOS ones. it was ridiculous.

>> please don't get me wrong, I didn't bitch about any ticket prices in a long, long time ...
But those prices are simply crazy. <<

i second all of that. i realize how it must sound to be freaking over 110 euros -
but relative to Polish salaries it's just ludicrous, especially this late in the planning season.

with sssoul, I think we have a misunderstanding here. I wrote about that Hamburg ticket price not to defend but to diss that Warsaw price. Writing: "Comparing to that those prices are ridiculous" I meant Warsaw prices.

cheers

Adam

the Stones? absolutely!! it's this promoter who's on my Very Serious Sh1t List!

Yeah, I meant the Stones. To look on the bright side we're paying less for Brno and more for Warsaw. Kind of the same financial situation as last year...

except that last year neither of those shows cost anywhere close to 415 PLN.
and of course it's quite stunning to be hit with this bad news so late.

anyway i know what track i need right now: ain't no use ain't no use ... :E

blame prices on the promotors, true, but it's The Stones who will be blamed by most of the people in this country. all the comments will be mixed with last year cancellation and financial status in Poland.

ehhhh...

that really hurts.
anyway - ain't that weird it is still semi-official?
Polish promotors and media made it official, cool.
But it's time RS.com to announce something to,
Kiev is waiting for news...

It is getting even worse if it's true.
Shall I buy tickets at a F*U**C*K*I*N*G shoarma restaurant??????

For non-polish speaking it says the tickets will be first at a @#$%& restaurant chain in Poland called Sphinx who are sponsoring the concert.

Re: Official announcement in Poland today

I just called them. It is F*U*C*K*I*N*G true

Re: Official announcement in Poland today

oh shit;
they are simply stupid

we - hardcore fans - have problems with accepting those prices,
so how the f*** normal, ordinary people are supposed to?
there are 60 thousand tickets that will go on sale, an promotor claims they might add another sectors if sale is going to go well. Yes, of course. I just don't see that. I'm already starting to hear that many people won't go to Warsaw but will go to Brno to see the Stones (i mean polish people).

I just watched the video on the gazeta site. It is added to the news. The bastard deserves a good beating for that Leszek Miller* smile. I don't know, maybe I'm overreacting at the moment.

*former Polish PM, IMO a total prick.

Funny thing is that on official seating chart is an information that the tickets will be on sale from May 19th at Ticketpro. We'll see...

I called the restaurant. They will surely have the tickets. However maybe both ticketpro and sphinx will have them at the same time (accrording to the news they won't but yeah, we'll see)

news about show appeared on Viva Art website:
still no official confimration on tickets prices (why?)
and why there is no official statement from Rs.com is mystery to me

Rs.com has been always slow on publishing the news. Remember how we had to wait for any official news concerning rescheluded/cancelled shows last year? And how late this tour was announced (end of March, while most bands touring this summer in Europe annouced their shows in the end of 2006 / beginning of 2007. I'm talking about big acts like Genesis, RHCP, The Police etc)?
As far as ticket prices are concerned. I'm hoping that they are still weighing the possibility of reducing the prices. Although I doubt it.

>> I'm hoping that they are still weighing the possibility of reducing the prices. Although I doubt it. <<

me too (both the hoping and the doubting) - or that what they've got as "sektor A" are actually the onstage spots.
i doubt it, but it would make a lot more sense!

since they still haven't committed themselves, we really should write to them
and point out helpful statistics like what Lorenz mentions in this thread: [www.iorr.org] :
>> I did a little calculation, and if we take the GDP/capita as an indicator for ticket prices,
then the 110 Euro for the FOS in Poland would equal 330 Euros in Ireland <<

even without the adjustments for relative income, as you see on that thread, 415 zlotys for FOS
would make this the third most expensive FOS ticket in Europe. there's no (0) justification for it.

someone should remind the promoter that in 1967 when the Stones saw that the front rows at the Palace of Culture
were occupied solely by overprivileged "insider" types they were so disgusted
that they stopped playing and told the creeps to get out and make room for the fans.
it's probably not quite a true story, but ... it should be. :E

looks like the same as Rome: seated pitch (it seems so looking at the plan posted before)= ridicolous ticket price increase, if compared to the prices practised the year before.
