What are your most anticipated musical releases of the year??
Posted by: micawber K ()

Hi All

Seeing as the Stones probaly will never release another album and to be honest if it says produced by Don Was on it I wouldn't buy it anyway what are your most anticipated releases of this coming year??

For me personally ones to watch out for

* Mccartney's new album because his last one Chaos & Creation ... was one of his best post Beatles releases in my humble opinion.

* Easy Tiger Ryan Adams on the 26th of June is the big one for me personally. 3 sublime albums with whiskeytown and 8 solo albums so far and not one stinker yet. The guy is without doubt the best american singer songwriter of the last 10 years by a country mile.

I can't remember waiting as anxiously for a new album as I was for Dylan's Modern Times last year.....but as for this current year?.......I was pretty anxious about Lucinda's new album which came out already in February........I'm not really looking ahead at anything new right now......still buying old stuff....

New Springsteen Live in Dublin CD & DVD - partly because I was at all three nights.

New Steve Earle album which I believe should be released in a few months

Yeah that was a big one for me last year. I still have great memories of listening to it on a shall we say less than legal copy on the way to see the Stones in Glasgow. Nearly a year on though having had time to digest it I think that the Album and the writing on it are top notch but that band is awful! Dylan sings great and plays great but Love & Theft has aged much better because of the awesome guitar skills of campbell & Sexton. Can't beat a bit of spirit on the water when you're feeling blue!

yeah, Bob's current guitar players Freeman and Kimball take some heat......hey I saw Larry Campbell performing with Elvis Costello April 27.......he played several different guitars, violin (or fiddle as we hillbillys call it), mandolin, and something that looked like a big lute.....he and Elvis did some very nice duets...

The album is called "Icky Thump" and comes out mid-June.

Jack and Meg are actually divorced, but they have long claimed to be brother and sister

here's their marriage certificate (1996)

and here's the proof of their divorce (2000)

HAS to be the new Ryan Adams. The man is just amazing! He is the only other artist I collect as meticously as the Stones. Also on my list:

NIN: Year Zero
Maroon 5
New VR
New Smashing Pumpkins
It's not really new, but the Traveling Willbury's new release.

josh.
