The DEFINITIVE seat numbering thread for O2 FLOOR BLOCKS
Posted by: paulywaul ()
Date: May 3, 2007 18:33

As follows:

This is the crucial numbering as you are looking forward facing the main stage:

A1 - outside seat 1, catwalk seat 20
A3 - catwalk seat 31, outside seat 50

B blocks the same

C1 - outside seat 1, catwalk seat 10
C3 - catwalk seat 41, outside seat 50.

Did not ask about C2 - but you can work it out easily enough.

Also, HOT SEAT numbering in block 112 (Keith's side) rows A,B,C,D etc. Nearest the stage - seat 377. Furthest from stage - 363.

Enjoy !!

So WHO is on the f f f f f f friggin' catwalk in A1 and A3 then ? Beast and I and the inflatable palm trees are close to it, we're in A3 row H seats 33 & 34. I feel sorry for the occupants of seats 31 & 32. Hope they like inflatable palm trees, cos' they're gonna be seeing an awful lot of them !!

We got C1 row A, seats 9 & 10 for the 23rd show. Just at the corner of the B stage.

Thanks Paulywaul.
Do you have a clue concerning the number of rows ?
I've got a row T in block C3 for august 26th show and I think that is impossible to match with the seating plan.
On the plan, the block C3 ends with the B-stage : no way to put 20 rows or more on the lenght of the B-stage.

I didn't ask about the "number of rows" within blocks, only about the "width" component of the rows, and how the seat numbering went. If you think about it, you're pretty much at the back of block C3. The front row is A, so row T is pretty much towards the back of it, wouldn't you say ? Perhaps more importantly, what's your SEAT number ? That tells you where you are in relation to the B stage.

thanks Paul! so the proportions on that seating chart are (predictably!) not very accurate -
in which case the real width of C2 might *not* be that easy to work out. i mean:
it isn't necessarily the same width as the b stage, even though it looks like it is.

If you want that info for C2 I can call the guy at the O2 that spelt all that out for me and ask him ... would you like me to do that ? That's the one block I did not enquire about, because it's of absolutely zero interest to me personally, and I also wouldn't have thought it would be of tremendous interest to a lot of people really ... it's right at the back of the sodding floor ! But if you need that information, I can get it. Or are you asking just out of academic interest ?

The guy I spoke to explained that the seat numbering you see exhibited within the various blocks (the numbers in white) on the TM seating chart is "accurate" in so far as those seats do physically exist within the venue. However, due to the precise stage layout for the Stones show, some seats are not sold because for example ... they would offer a reduced or otherwise poor view. That is the case for example in the A,B,C,D rows of block 112. As far as block C2 goes, IF it is EXACTLY the same dimensions as the B stage itself, then a perfectly reasonable conclusion is that the seat numbering is 11 to 40. If it is not "quite" the same proportions as the B stage itself, it will vary from that number range, but NOT by very much - a couple of seats either way.

thank you very much for the offer, Paul - you're very gallant.
my interest in C2 isn't personal - i was just thinking of the folks here who do have seats there.
but if you do phone back, i reckon more people would love to know how many rows there are in the various sections.
i'm making extra popcorn for you and the lovely Beast. thanks for doing this!

Correct. I'll phone the guy in the O2 at some point and get the seat numbering info for the remaining floor block I haven't asked about - C2.

Thanks Paul, this is GREAT news!

I am in Block A3, Row P, seat 31 for the show on the 26th. Ok it's a few rows back, but I'm quite tall and it will be great to have that amazing sightline down the centre of the arena floor.

Can't wait!

I have a question.

Can we presume the runways each side of the stage will run all the way down the sides of blocks A1 & A3.

Otherwise why the big space between the 1st and last seats and the lower blocks.

I dont see any big gaps in the pic here.

Yes. You can presume, wager, guarantee. See Arizojp's post above. That's exactly what you'll see.

I am talking about the outer runway/wings not the one to the B Stage.

Gaps between tiered Block 101 and seat No 1 in A1 also Block 112 and seat 50 in A3.

Oh I see. If the past is any indication, the runway on the wings of the stage will go to 112 and 101. They won't go up the sides of A1 and A2 on the outside. These drawings are not usually to scale. The space probably isn't as big as it appears.

Paulywaul, thank you, thank you.

I'm still a bit confused about 112 and the seat numbering. You say 327 is nearest the stage with 363 farthest from the stage? Maybe arizojp has the old numbers in there still on the chart.

Anyway, hope to see a few of you on the floor in A3 for one show, if not beforehand.

Thanks for all the information, I still do not know if all the seanumbering is correct. For instance I have for the first night Sec. 107 seat number 220 and 221, However these seatnumber should be in Sec 108 according to the plan.
For Thursday I am A3 Row J to the very right. But Sunday Row H near to the catwalk seats in the 30ies.

<<< I'm still a bit confused about 112 and the seat numbering. You say 327 is nearest the stage with 363 farthest from the stage ? >>>

WRONG, the NEAREST seat to the stage in ROW A of block 112 is 377 (you wrote 327), and the furthest is 363. If you look at the TM diagram, you'll see there are three figures in block 112, going from furthest away from stage to nearest to stage ... these numbers are 363, 379, 383. I SPECIFICALLY enquired about the HOT SEAT ROW A in block 112, and discovered that the end seat (closest to stage) is NOT in fact 383, it is 377.

PLEASE BE AWARE, the SEATING PLAN DIAGRAM IS NOT TO SCALE. I know what it looks like, that the A blocks and B blocks do not appear to be the same width as each other, but I was categorically told that the width of these blocks IS the same and the seat numbering within the rows is exactly as I described it in my opening post. The ONLY block I never enquired about with respect to seat numbering was C2. ALSO, I never enquired about the "depth" of the floor blocks, that is to say the number of rows each contains, A to P or A to Q or A to R ... whatever ?

a bit of additional finetuning: going by what the gallant Paul's learned and seat numbers i've seen,
section 112 (and presumably some of the other tier sections as well) have different numbers of seats in different rows.
the high number Paul's informant gives for the front rows of 112 is lower than some of the numbers in rows further back.

Yeah Ok. The thing that stands out for me from all this is how SMALL an area the floor actually is. If you think about it, there's only a total of 40 seats straddling the catwalk (20 each side) and 20 straddling the B stage (10 each side). To me, that is not a big floor. The other calculation that's worth doing in your mind concerns these highly elusive "first few rows" of the A blocks, which more than likely have been put aside for either VIPs/family/friends - or Fanasylum. We're not talking about a vast number of seats here. Each row is 40 seats. Take say rows A thru F (6 rows), that's 240 seats. Or if they've put aside A thru H (8 rows), that's 320 seats. Considering probable demand, that AIN'T a lotta seats !! Basically, if EVER any that end up being unused become available in due course ... they're gonna be scarcer than rocking-horse doo doo !!
