In the 18 years (!) since this remark I have learned Taylor's solo is loosely based on Santana's 'Song of the Wind' track from the 1972 album Caravanserai'.

To be honest, I wasn't even aware Carlos Santana guested with the Stones at any point. Admittedly, the 1975 Tour isn't an absolute favourite of mine.

It was Carlos who recommended the Mesa Boogie amps for the Stones. He's playing it here, as we see from the picture
