Question for BV
Posted by: SonicDreamer ()

Hi Bjornulf

I can't recollect so many board members being so dejected, angry and disillusioned by a ticket presales before, regarding the London 02 shows.

I really think the Stones camp need to be made aware of this atmosphere of disenfranchisement. Even people with Rolling Stones Fan Club legacy memberships were generally unable to get FOS or good seats, nevermind those with ordinary Rolling Stones Fan Club Platinum memberships or O2 codes. I don't know whether you have the ability and willingness to do this, but could you express our collective dismay to someone of importance and influence in the Stones camp?

I perfectly understand if this is not possible, thanks for listening anyway.

Thanks
SD

I'd like to second Sonic Dreamers request.

As much as I love the band, the way that the O2 presales were handled was just terrible treatment of many loyal and long-standing fans.

This forum is full of the band's most loyal fans. Most of us are pretty adept at getting ticekts for all sorts of Stones gigs in the UK - I was at Brixton, Shep Bush the Astoria and numerous other stadium and arena gigs - but I have never encountered anything like the 02 situation. Seems we weren't even on a level playing field with just one or two people getting A block tickets with legacy memberships. Only hope now is they announce a Saturday 02 show and change the way tickets are sold. It is all very well to say we live in a capitalist society etc but if you are going to launch schemes which give the impression that loyalty will be rewarded then that loyalty should be rewarded.

I'm disappointed too. I have to skip London this time.
Don't want to/can't pay that much, even though I'd love to see Stones.
BUT...I there's a slight hope that things will be different with the AUgust 25th concert.
Maybe those tix will be realeased in a different way/price.

That would be a help, but unfortunately those who bought Legacy/Platinum memberships would for the most part have now used those presale codes on getting codes for the only two shows to have been announced so far, costing them some £170 per ticket on average. If anything, those who bought these tickets with a membership should get their $100 refunded. The membership was worthless.

Why are those fanclub DVDs so expensive on the internet? When I find one online it's always very expensive. I already got it on bootleg, but I want it official (My goal is to get all official DVDs and CDs).

My embroidered hat took so long to arrive, it had Dick Taylor and Tony Chapman listed amongst the names of the current band members...

probably because you have to pay $100 in order to actually get one.

They'd do wise in listening to this kind of critisism. Or perhaps they've just thought: OK, this is the last time, so we don't need those idiots to buy our tickets any longer... Because there won't be a next time. Otherwise, biting the hand that feeds is not considered very smart.

Even the Stones-can-do-no-wrong brigade have shut up on this topic. The Stones' greed and contempt for their audience is despicable.

Just to add this is not the first time that those things happen. You should open your eyes guys. Welcome to the real world.
I had pretty much the same xperience in 2005/2006 with the first MSG show and the Montreal show. Ask the shidoobees. Almost no floor tickets during the presales. It's what happen with all seated concerts. Manipulation and corruption come with this system. You standart fan are @#$%& up but there are hundreds if not thousands of incredible tickets on ebay or on the brokers websites.

Yes certainly souncheck, I'm having a great time thank you! Got the tickets to the shows I want to go to, GA for Nijmegen (no FOS-tickets) and FOS for Paris.

Dug up some great albums to accompany us in the car en route to Brussels, where we will spend a weekend. Everything is fine. And what about your side of the water? It's probably much darker over there at this moment, can't imagine we're sharing the sun right at this time, 8.45am.

To get slightly back to topic: aside from the 02-mess, the last few days have not been so negative in my perception. Of course, a topic here and there were very nasty, but overall... not so bad!

I am a member of RS.com can't remember which one the cheapest i presume and was a member for the past 3 years,I got my code for 2006 too late for presales, but as I am registered didabled I was told I could probably get a ticket anyway, this as it turns out was true.
Since that time my PC crashed and I lost an old email address that had my membership details on it ,I emailed them as soon as I realised this just in case there would be a tour comming up this year,I emailed them again two weeks ago,got a standard blah blah blah reply about getting back to me,so after the tour was anounced I emailed them again in higher case and low and behold I have my details back but guess what I haven't got, the presale code.
Tuesday night I read on this site that 02 customers would get a code,
I TRIED THEM AND EVENTUALLY GOT A CODE.
The seats were mosty gone when I tried but I got some in block 419 eventually, thinking being some tickets are better than no tickets.
This is by no means ideal as I have restricted walking and standing but I can only ever afford to go to one show a year/tour as my income does not stretch that far, this year I might try and see two if they do saturday but I am not hopefull and anyway I still don't have that code.
Sorry for the rant but it gets you down sometimes

Had a code for years, never worked. Got sent another one, didn't work.

I second Sonic Dreamer's request. Better tickets were available in the public sale than to people with rs.com memberships, who were badly misled. It is nothing short of scandalous.

Re: Question for BV

I'm certain bv reads the majority of threads here but it's not his m.o. to answer questions posed directly for him. He'll often comment on posts to clarify accuracy of information, (i.e. venue date, location, etc )but not so much opinion based questions.

Now that I expressed my observation, watch him go and respond to this... hehe
