so why they do not mix it up then ??
....offer the FOS section and behind FOS they can offer seating tix...so you have about 3000-4000 FOS tix for the hard core fans like me and you and you can stil sit down if you are an old fart like many others who go to see the Stones....

Maybe because the seats are full of sitting people.
And they might be disturbed by those jumping and
yelling rockfans in front of them. Sad but true,
it´s gonna be an opera event.

What I glean from most of these replies is that, If you can longer physically stand or in poor health you are not allowed to enjoy your favourite band. One must simply be relegated to some vegetable area. Tremendous thinking from a stupid generation Y, and they werent even there in the beginning.

maybe all missed the point!?!

The seats are there because of the boreing warm-up acts. you'll appreciate it - afterwoods.

when the Stones come out - it's business as usuall - jump and dance (hopefully)

Hmmm, I don't know what generation your're from, but that is an offence to a entire generation...

Time waits for no one ( although I wasn't born when they wrote this), and it won't wait for you!!!

PS: Can you imagine Jagger sitting on a chair while he's doing JJF or start me up or...??

Your generation offends me and people like me every day of the year, you lack respect for others, you have no common sense, you think every thing on earth is yours, you are a sad lot. Anybody who looks different, has an impediment or is from a third world country, most generation Y think are inferior. Dont like my reply? I couldnt give a S**T.

You're funny... Have a coffee, look outside ( in Bruges, weather is nice!) and buy your ticket for Werchter ( mind you that there are no seats at this gig, but FOS is the same price like the rest of the feelt...)!

I'll buy you a Stella while we're waiting for the best group ever (no matter what generation you're from) and you'll understand that you can't judge an entire generation by a few persons that you happen to know...

All the best

Thomas

It is absolutely disappointing that there will be only seated shows in Germany!
The shows certainly not are seated to help people who are not healthy enough to stand for two hours. If somebody cannot stand for two hours I will be the first one to let him pass and take a place before me. By the way, lots of Stones fans are not young anymore, but I know many 60year olds who can stand for lots of hours. I simply will have to go and hear the stones again, but I planned to go with some friends who believe that a completely seated stonesshow is ridiculous. I do not know if they will go. If the stones or their management read these pages, of which I am sure they do I would like to tell them that lots of true fans are very, very disappointed.

I agree with this generally speaking. Some of the rudest audiences are Stones audiences. Some drunks insist on standing the ENTIRE show and obstructing others' view, and their excuse is IT'S THE STONES.... I enjoy it when they get beer thrown in their faces or their lights punched out.

And I don't think that's just me. In fact, I think I'm part of a silent majority.

Wow, we've always had seated shows in the states. Guess I don't know what I'm missing.... All I know is, I'm paying $300, I'm getting an f'ing seat, to sit in whenever I f'n want, and if you stand in front of me when I sittin' I'm gonna kick your a*s*!

Seriously, I thought all y'all were civilized in Old Europe. Jeesh. 'Bout time you started using chairs.

Somehow some poeple just don't get the point. Seated pitch does not mean that you sit down all the show. No way. It shows me that most of the people here argueing have not even been to one seated concert. Neither in the US nor in the UK sat the people down during the show except for the two Keith songs, sorry but when you had slipping away a hundred times you may hear that slip through the cracks while sitting.
If you like GA fine then go to Werchter or Nijmegen that is also close to Düsseldorf or Hamburg even to Frankfurt.
As I said: if I have people respecting space and don't get drunk all the time I do not mind GA, but unfortenately a lot of people pay a hell of money for a ticket and then get so pissed that their offend other fans and don't even know what's on stage.

Perhaps you would be more comfortable at a Rod Stewart concert.

Funny how the rock n roll world changed during the past four-five decades.
In the 60s you couldn't hear anything due to screaming.
From 1968/69 it all became very quiet. People were stoned at most concerts.
Listen "Prodigal Sons Tour Mother Europe". Copenhagen 1970. People are shouting "sæt jer ned " - "please sit down"....
1973 it was still seats all over, but I remember that all of us were standing throughout the Stones-concert in Brøndby-Hallen. Most other concerts were however still full of stoned people sitting down.
Sort of changed when the big stadium-concerts took off.
And now ? Well, poor Germans....

No offense, but i think you don't get the point. If you want a seat buy a ticket for the grandstand. The only reason for the seats on the infield is that they can charge more money. Do you really think the stones management cares about drunk people? Look at it this way: the more people getting drunk the more money the get get from selling beer. Its just about making as much money as possible, not about anybodys convenience.

Its obvious they do it for the money, but i managed to grab £60 tickets for the seventh row at twickenham last year and had seats next to the aisle and plus everybody was standing anyway, the previous year i was at manchester and up in the heavens and nobody got up which was disapointing and the same happaned at cardiff in which i decided i would never sit up in the higher stands for a stones again and if i have to pay the £150 + then so be it even thou it grieves me to pay it.

Also it seems that on the pitch tickets you seem to get better facilities with bar & concert t-shirts sales etc.

if you want to sit down, go to the @#$%& opera!

Re: Seated German shows: the end of Rock&Roll

firebird you got me. So you see the Stones think if the audience still gets pissed for such a lot of money why can't we charge more???? They will pay us easily some dozen £ or $. So they make seats and get the money.

Andy js. This has nothing to do with opera.
As I said I had good experience with FOS or GA and I had also bad experience with seats on the pitch. But all in all the seating is fairer and gives those a chance to be front which can't wait all day long outside the stadium.
But I totally agree: Those where the times when I was camping out the Stadium to be front row. Today sorry to say I am happy to have the seat. Fair enough, but honest.

personally i think its totally unfair, because you get a better view if you have more disposable income

and thats about as un rock n roll as it gets

in my opinion anyway

Years ago it was about "the fastest and the most devoted fans are up front",
near the band. These days it´s only for those who have enough money, for those
who pay extra to get better seats (membership) and for those who are technically
on time. I just don´t want to believe that the Stones don´t know that.
They WANT that!
