I've got a little 15W, 8" solid-state Vox Pathfinder (an older one - no reverb or footswitch) for apartment usage and a Fender Hot Rod Deluxe for gigging.

With the Fender, I use a Tube Screamer-style overdrive for a volume boost during solos when I gig; for rhythm, I like to run the Les Paul straight into the amp, turn the reverb up to about 3, and jack up the gain to get a nice crunch.

I'm afraid to use my overdrive with the Vox - that little thing sizzles as is. I think added overdrive would cause it to explode.

I don't have this one yet, but a bad case of G.A.S.

it appears to be from same company like the Epiphone 5 watt amp.
just with a tone control added and a different speaker.
...and look at that price, as much as you'd spend on a decent pedal.

I use a Fender Hot Rod Deluxe for most live stuff. I've got a small Dennis Cornell amp that I keep in the house and have used it for recording. Love both of them.

Don't have a camera on me but I have:

Fender blues deluxe - (for live guitar and pedal steel)
Late 60s Fender bassman 50 head + 2 x 12 cab (when I feel like it)
Peavey 112 of some sort (for pedal steel practice)

I just got rid of my Gibson Goldtone GA-15 which was a beauty!

Main amps are a slightly tweaked Blonde Fender HRD and my old 1964 AC30TB, which I've now owned for 30 years. Original Celestion "Blues", Virtually mint and re-capped to original spec.

My amp is now a Reissue Blues deluxe from 2006....before i had a original 94 Blues Deluxe but it needed to expend many money on rapair vibrations and other things...so i buy a new one that works perfect and has many improvements on vibrations and tube protection, apart for a 2 switch pedal for channel and reverb.I use this amp with my 72 mex tele custom with SD Broadcaster bridge pickup and a Voodo lab Sparkle drive pedal

You guys have some really good stuff there!

Mine ain't bad either (I love my babies!!)

#1 - Arrow 15 v transistor. The first. Still use it. Incredible to say, but it sounds great.

#2 - Ampeg jet, bought it on ebay for nothing (I spent more in replacing the tubes), but absolutely great.

#3 - Victoria 50212, the big boy! Loud!

because I'm not really happy with my Fender FM 210R, I'm going to buy me a new one. which one would you prefer, to sound similiar to Keith:
Fender Blues Deluxe Reissue or Fender Hot Rod Deluxe Black?
I need your help because I can't try them in a store.
Thanks...

Either is a very good way to approach that sound on a budget.
To be honest the differences between the Blues and Hot Rod amps at low to medium gain settings are much smaller than the differences between the various after market tubes and speakers you might fit. There are very worthwhile improvements to had in that department once you've gotten to know the amp and where you want to go with the sound.

I have a 73 Silver Face Fender Super reverb, I use "used" Mesa Boogie 6L6 Tubes...warm, fat sound, without haveing to jack it to get a nice sound.

In chronological order: a blackface Champ from March '66, a January '67 Vox Conqueror and an early '79 Boogie Mark IIB.

I finally got this one. It was sold out for a while, now they're back.
It's got no bells & whistles but it's a neat class A all tube amp.
5 watt - and still to loud at home if you crank it all the way.
An old Champ would sound better of course but you can't beat the price.
it sounds and also looks good.
Im gonna try some different tubes soon and it has a good potential for mods.

I swear, it followed me home... grinning smiley

It's a 6 Watt silver face Champ from either '74 / '75
judging by grill cloth and logo

or '79 - by serial number

tubes and sockets need to be seen to but it even sounds great as it is.

Lotsa great amps here!
I have a MusicMan 160W 4 speakers amp from the 70s - but I don't have any pictures. Quite funny - it blows away just about all other "big amps" I've tried even though it's ancient. Think Bob used it for Hard Rain broadcast in 1976.
Unfortunately it's gathering dust - as there's no band anymore, and I can't afford the electricity.
