What what???
I was sure that they wouldn`t come to Finland because they didn`t sold out last time. Okay Harlix, i count on you. Forty Niks; Tampere is out of question, there is not place big enough for the Stones , only Olympia Stadium in Helsinki is possible venue.

What strikes me is that we haven't heard any rumour about St Petersburg, have we?
Actually, there was a cancelled show there yesteryear.

They had problems organizing the St Petersburg show last year. Maybe they will do Helsinki instead.

Let's just not be nostalgic & wish the CCCP-leaders back.
I was over there in 85 & not much fun came out of it.
Still the Russian peple and rock fans ought to deserve a gig.
Happen to know Keith is burnin' for playin' beyond the former Curtain.

Harlix, I wish you were right, but I seriously doubt that.

This summer in Finland we already have metallica, genesis as a stadium act (met. sold out at record speech)
Aerosmith and Who as an arena act..
1995 and 1998 RS sold out, but with the Licks tour ticket sales was slow, same year as Bruce sold out two gigs at Olympic Stadium. The limited market problem!

Yeah this would be great news but this summer really cannot be at all good for potential ticket sales because of the surprisingly large number of other concerts already on sale here.

...also tickets are still available for Genesis, Aerosmith, The Who, George Michael etc.

I hear The Killers are now coming too.

Yes Finland does like live music but there's only 5 million of us here.

Oh well I'm not complaining...my dream is still to see The Stones at Hartwall Arena(where the Eurovision will be).

The dot.com story confirming the Isle of wight show today (see separate thread) mentions that theyre working on a possible show in St Petersburg in August and is the first media rumour I've read in the last few months that this show may indeed take place.

Got the impression last year that St Petersburg was chosen as they didnt think they could play there AND Helsinki, and maybe it was picked as it was a "virgin market". So, maybe its - again - going to be one or the other but not both.

However, theres not too many rumours about shows in August, so who knows.

Yes, I remember reading last year(before the cancellations) that the Stones stage trucks would be seen rolling through Helsinki but only because they would be on route from Sweden to St. Petersburg.

(please though take a pit stop in Helsinki this summer for an arena show)

The woman watching the Pori 65 news clipp is Pamela Des Barres who was in Finland when her book was published here.
