KEITH AT ROCK AND ROLL HALL OF FAME
Posted by: stonesrule ()
Date: March 13, 2007 03:55

For those of you who weren't able to see the televised induction ceremonies at the Waldorf Astoria Hotel tonight, Keith was great. Of course!

Handsome, healthy, nicely-tanned, amusing as he reminisced about his first encounter with The Ronettes in the UK in 1964. He started off smiling and talking about the wonders of "medical science." His daughter looked SO proud.

Imagine this will hit Youtube soon.

Show opened with lengthy tribute to Ahmet Ertegun and some hellacious singing from Aretha. Keith came next making his speech about The Ronettes. Ronnie talked a long time, quite amusing. NEVER mentioned Phil Spector. Sang three hits wonderfully. At the end of the segment after The Ronettes had finished singing and were leaving the stage Paul Shafer, the musical director, read a very nice message about the girls from Phi, whose murder trial starts any day.

Thanks for all the great Hall of Fame pix of Keith.
CindyC will be swooning for sure, and I don't blame her.

Love Rockman's photo!

Uh oh beginning to think maybe the Stones ticket prices are reasonable after some of the free "talent" on the Hall of Fame tonight.

Don't think I ever saw Keith with a mustache before.

Is it me or did Keith have some minor Botox injections to his forehead? The moustache looked good.

What I'm digging is the old clips they keep showing.

What's it say when old clips rock more than the live show?

It says the old clips are better. The one with Led Zeppelin and Neil Young was great,

Handsome? Yes, I must agree......Not quite the way I would describe his look. Homeless looking, may be closer to the actual truth.

I didn't get home from work in time to see VH, and I am thinking that is not such a bad thing.

I turned it off after VH. Then flipped back out of curiosity and I saw Keith in the press room. Did anybody see that, did he answer any questions? Anything about a certain little tour across the pond?

Yeah, you should see the whole 30 - 40 minute jam. Steven Tyler and Joe Perry were on before Neil and did BABY PLEASE DON"T GO, BRING IT ON HOME , and a few more.....now THAT was ROCK AND ROLL at it's best !!!!

Would you settle for "debonair" instead of handsome.

Keith has more charm and personality than most of the dogs on that show. And a hell of a lot less ego.

Although I have to admit the story Patti Smith told about her mother and the vacuum cleaner was quite sweet. Unfortunately, she played the damned song.

Patti Smith was great, she's the Female Iggy.... Rock and Roll Nigger is a Great Song and throwing in GIMME SHELTER was not a bad move as she turned it into an anti war statement. Stonesrule, you have PEARL VISION (eye glass center) where you live? No, not Debonair either exactly. How about you're beyond star struck and NEED to get those eyes checked out.....Keith was just Keith (only older and dressed up slightly)....Next you'll tell me ELIZABETH TAYLOR is looking HOT these days in her wheel chair... (reality is a GOOD thing, check it out someday).....

I didn't see the video of Keith in the press room because my internet is too slow and it keeps cutting out. But, here are some more pictures of him in there.

I think he's getting "carded" (ID check for drinking age) too much these days cause he looks so "young and healthy" so he grew the "stache" to look over 21 so he can buy a bottle or 2 (or get into a DISCO)..... That MUST be it.....

No one who knows me thinks I'm "star struck" or that I need glasses.

I'm a big fan of Iggy's, by the way.

Sorry, Helter Skelter, guess you're not much of a fan of Keith Richards. How's YOUR guitar playing, by the way?

Yeah, I'm a fan of Keith's BUT if it wasn't for Mick the Stones would have ended at DIRTY WORK if not A LOT sooner. With that said I have 2 thoughts - give them a big hand for not turning into VH at some point BUT the insane ticket prices, War Horse heavy set list - almost half the show, and giant stages ain't my cup of tea (I saw US tours 69 through 81 and from 89 on it's been a whole different thing - not quite Rock and Roll, a bit circus, a bit too planned).... I would have to say I prefer the way Dylan and Robert Plant have progressed with their careers the most - smaller places, mix up the set list, keep changing musically in a natural way...marching to the beat of their own drums, there's SACRIFICE in that but also a who bunch of INTEGRETY - somewhat lacking in the $$$ crazy world of Michael Cohl....

When Keith was introducing the Ronettes, he was extremely relaxed, articulate, and yes, he looked very good...
