OT: March Madness - NCAA Basketball Tournament
Posted by: sweetcharmedlife ()
Date: March 13, 2007 00:30

It's madness baby! That time of year again. The NCAA tournament is here. Which means it's time for some more sweetcharmedlife DWIP (dead wrong in public) predictions. Let's run down the contenders:

Florida - Over Elmo's dead body
Ohio St. - Didn't work out too well in football
Kansas - Rock,choke,jayhawk
North Carolina - Lukester loves Tar Heel fans
UCLA - Button Your Lip's favorite team
Kentucky,Louisville - ohno says they both suck
Stanford,Duke - smart kids can't play sports

So with that in mind here are my final four picks.
Oregon,UCLA,Georgetown,Ohio ST.

The winner............The quack attack rules. OREGON!

Oh. And for our non-American friends on the board, I'll get this one for you.

"Who cares"!

We do, of course.

Florida
UCLA
North Carolina
Ohio State

Three (1) seeds & a (2). History say's that won't happen.

Florida repeats, sending the Buckeye's crawling home with their tails between their legs for the 2nd time in 3 months!

I'm afraid it's gonna be over my dead body. The Gators return all 5 starters from last year's national champs. Just can't feel right pulling for them though.

I'll go with Lukester's homeboys - Go Heels!

Sorry Lukester. For some reason I thought you didn't like Tar Heel fans. My bad (bag). But Appalachian St. got screwed. They shoulda made it.

Elmo, worst part about it. The final four is an Atlanta this year. Can you imagine all those Gator fans coming to Georgia? LOL.

charmer...your perception is keen, I am not a Tar Heels fan.....those fans are everywhere and can be quite annoying.....but, since they are from my home state, and the Appalachian State Mountaniers didn't get invited.....I'll say "go Heels"

Yeah unfortunatly my Stanford team has to face them in Lexington in the 1st rd. I wonder how Pitino will be welcomed there?

I still don't think that Pitino has fully recovered from the ping pong balls not falling the Celtics way and losing out on Duncan. We in Boston sure would have had a different team to follow for the past several years. He made some real crappy decision while he was here too.

I'd like to see the Cards win a couple of games.

quack attack.

much as i luv my duckies - don't see them going too far here. they are loaded with perimeter talent and 3-point marskmen, but they are too vulnerable down low. elite eight is a possibility, but that's about it.

I thought about it, but you have to buy a $165 ticket to all the NCAA games in Lexington in order to see Louisville - no single tickets are available. I'm not paying $165 for a ticket unless electric guitars are involved. Maybe if Pitino came out and played Foxy Lady with his teeth ...

I think you're right, Pitino really screwed up the Celtics. And UK for that matter, they haven't been the same since he left (aside from their flukish '98 title run in Tubby's first year). Everyone considered would have been better off if he stayed at UK.

But, if Pitino hadn't gone to Boston we never would have gotten that great speech "Larry Bird is not walking through that door ... Kevin McHale is not walking through that door ..." Still cracks me up every time I think about it.

Haha. It's funny that you wrote that because I was thinking about referencing the same speech in my post. The local sports radio station, WEEI, wears that clip out whenever people call in and start talking about the past and how good we had it.

As A Uconn fan this year has been tough. What I don't understand is how a school like Duke makes it in to the tournament with over 10 losses. Actually most of the ACC teams have 10 or more losses. Yet teams like Syracuse and West Virginia don't get in...

Will there be rs.com pins to 'commemorate' this event or have they already launched their 'exclusive range' ?

Hahaha. Last week (I think), I received an email from RS.com peddling tongue hats in the colors of "your favorite team". Anybody with half a brain would choose the orange and blue onewinking smiley
