Thanks, Open-G. I tuned in not soon enough to catch Keith but there is a hellofva montage of many of the people inducted, and footage of their playing alone and with others that is very, very nice!
i know it's horrid beyond belief; god help me...why she have to go near the stones stuff...urghh..... good heart but what a total poseur when it comes down to the music... ohmygod...am i off the mark here? it's embarassingly bad.
thank god; she stopped. that was one of the worst moments of my life. she shoulda kept the stones out of it...what a mess... here comes song number two. im gonna see what's in the medicine cabinet.
yeah!! i dug that little chaplainesqe, now dylanesque, little pirate sweet upper lip wisp of a stach there...he looks tan, debonair, relaxed and with it...u better get ready for some good stuff in europe i bet...
I'm telling you - all night I have been seeing some nice speeches but just EMBARRASSING performances. Firstoff Patti Smith. Very nice humble understated speech about Fred Sonic, about bandmates and all. But they start doing "Gimme Shelter" and right away you got 2 guitars playing totally straight chords in concert tuning. Which isn't the vibe of the music at all. But ok, it's their take on it. Then she starts singing and once again I know for sure that many people should just QUIT! This is so embarrassing. She's a n old woman. Watching a what? 58 year old woman do that shrieking is so terrible. Nothing cool or rock'n roll about it. Before Keith and the Ronettes, especially the one in the gold dress gave honest talks. And their performance was actually quite good. The band loved it, and they did not overstep themselves. But poor ARETHA! What is wrong with her? What was with that lower register? Was she getting an ovation for being a trouper or did anyone see that as a teimepiece performance? Arethe is the Queen, we all know that. But she lost her pipes. Or at least the lower ones. She evn coughed up something and said like "Little raw tonite.."
"...no longer shall you trudge 'cross my peaceful mind."
how excellent that i can watch a live show and concert LIVE on my computer in good audio and video...!! and full easily 'full screened' on monitor. man, too much...if the stones sold a LIVE subsciption service for a tour leg,(with a friendly price tag you sobs) of the vid/audio feed from every show, well i'd sign up for the whole tour...and on travel days i would go out and buy bigger and bigger computer monitors...people would say 'how are you beely" and i would say, i'm really just fine thank you.
