Jethro Tull
Rush
Kiss
Deep Purple
Alice Cooper (We forgive his releases after 1980)

Iggy, for me, remains the most glaring omission

Madonna is a shoe-in at first time of asking. I think he's wrong in saying that Dire Straits will never get in, though. Likewise with Duran Duran (even though I'd personally agree with him that they shouldnt)

Its getting a bit silly now, however because the criteria for entry (being a recording artist for 25 years) puts a lot of artists of wildly differing levels of greatness and influence in the same boat as a 'minor' artist. There's no way for example that The Beatles, Stones and Dylan should have to wait 25 years into their career to get in. Additionally, there simply isnt the depth or body of work in a lot of the newer entries.

Really? IGGY has been overlooked? COME ON - the guy was punk before punk, that's totally wrong. FACES should be in there, PETER GABRIEL, ALICE COOPER, YES, JETHRO TULL, NEIL DIAMOND, GENESIS, DEEP PURPLE...... a lot of over looked people, not good....

Yeah Stoned, but sometimes it's a good show. Have you seen the Led Zep jam with Aerosmith and Neil Young? BRING IT ON HOME, WHEN THE LEVEE BREAKS, BABY PLEASE DON'T GO, FOR WHAT IT'S WORTH, a few more.... great jam, as good as unplugged

i mean i don't grasp how they've managed to omit so many great names
and then look at the "prospective" list to see who they're (i guess!) pondering

The Dave Clark 5 had a string of great hits and were on the ballet this year but not voted in in faver of no talent critics faverates like Patti Smith [what did she ever do?]. Without the DC5 there may not have been a British Invasion to follow the Beatles. Glad All Over was a strong enough hit, as were Bits and Pieces, Can't You See That She's Mine, Because, ect. to show America there was more than just one hit pop group in England. They were the 2nd British band to appear on the Ed Sullivan show and really paved the way for the others, including the Stones. I doubt if the R+B cover bands would have been able to make it in America without being a part of a full scale British Ivasion. The Hall Of Fame only wants acts that are considered "hip" today. The people who vote are all in the bussiness and are too young to have even been born when the acts they're judging were on the charts. They can't stand band uniforms and kept the Rascals out for five years, one of the greatests American bands ever. What chance do other true rockers like the DC5, Paul Revere and The Raiders and Sam the Sham and the Pharouhs have against no talent torn t-shirt B.S. acts like Patti Smith?

Leon Russell absolutely needs to be inducted. Here's a petition going around to get the Tulsa boy in:

Leon Russel is not in R&R HOF ?
But didn't they just let Bon Jovi in ?
What kind of a world is this ?

Most of the people who have been overlooked so far should be upset as they are inducting rap people in tonight for the first time.

Iggy and the Stooges, the Faces and the Replacements are the most glaring omissions IMO. No way Madonna should ever get in. Pop hall of fame, maybe, or better yet money-grubbing skank hall of fame, but not RNR HOF.
