there was one thread yesterday speculating about the tour possibly being delayed due to Ronnie -
is that what you mean? of course the fact that the tour hasn't been delayed, as far as anyone knows,
would kind of undermine that theory.

but since you say you saw a "few threads" i reckon you don't mean just one -
can you do a search and provide the links? thanks.

Ronnie was supposedly close to death during the Licks Tour rehearsals.
It was a "question of weeks".
Always the same old bullshit.

Don't be scared, Andrea. Nobody knows anything. So the people write some ideas and rumours. And if someone says something about scary performances of Ronnie (i.e. in Milan and Berlin), then I want to remember some great moments of Buenos Aires and Amsterdam.

We are all just waiting for the tour announcements of 2007 smiling smiley

I think the rumours come from reports of other stuff he's doing over the next couple of months. Any rehersals for the upcoming dates probably won't be until well into may.

I heard the Ronnie rumor from a Live Nation employee early last week. If the tour starts in the summer, we hope he is back.

well.hes playing a show in London in under two weeks time, so I guess that would suggest he's capable.

Anyone who get's a bit nervous about Ronnie, just read the interview Rockman posted, you'll feel better about him.

I think it's great: he's been around so long, and is still very conscious about the (lack of) quality in his playing, and is motivated to work on it. It is in my opinion a hartwarming interview, also on other subjects, and made me appreciate him even more.

And I still want his Rhino-painting...

I love how a lot of people here treat Ronnie like he just joined the band 4 months ago. He's been with them since 1974 and there is still talk that he won't join them on tour, he'll be replaced and his attendance is up in the air every tour. Ronnie loves being in the Stones and is a fan of the band himself---he'll try to make every tour he can because he wants to be there. And I believe that the band really wants him there too. Ronnie isn't as replaceable as everyone makes it seem. If Ronnie's ill...I feel they'd postpone a show or a tour until he's ready.

I saw a guy with two heads walking down the main street last night. I think it is important and I want everybody to know. May be the fact is that somebody saw this man with two heads but I do still feel it is important to tell everybody about this very important information. It is very important to spread any information, regardless how useless, meaningless or stupid it is.

Well, we certainly HOPE he is. He isn't the most reliable sod when it comes to turning up where & when he's supposed to, but I do find it difficult to imagine that a tribute night devoted to his elder brother is something he'll miss ! I'll be the first to let you know ...... !!

My friend has two assh*les. I haven't seen myself but everybody seems to know.

Everytime him and me and this other bloke walk into this bar, everyone says: "there is john with the two asholes"

Reminds me of the good ol' story with the monkey grinning smiley
who entered a bar somewhere in a desert state in the west...
The tough guys standing 'FOS' of the bar checked the ape out,
thoroughly.
Monkey to swing himself up to a barstool & ordered a beer (a Bud).
"Ok, 18$", Bartender says.

The bartender didnt feel too comfortable with the situation, so
he tried to chat a little...
"We're not giddin to often them monkeys as guests here"
"... No wonder", says the monkey,"When a beer costs ya 18 bucks". grinning smileygrinning smileygrinning smiley

Harelip goes into a bar and orders a beer. Bartender with humpback says $18.

Harelip says, "Thanks for not mentioning my speech defect". Bartender says, "Thanks for not mentioning my humpback".

Harelip says, "Humpback, hell, as high as everything is, I thought that was your ass"!

do you mean occasions when someone hoped he'd turn up, even though he wasn't scheduled to?
nah, can't be - that wouldn't be a fair reason to label someone unreliable.
so i guess i don't know what you're talking about.

No, I don't mean that. I mean that he WAS scheduled to turn up and didn't. I don't label people this that or the other because I have nothing better to do - thanks very much.

well, that's why i said "can't be"!
i'm not very up on Ronnie's scheduled appearances/nonappearances - do you feel like elucidating?

I could, but I'm not inclined to ... because it's not really very important, is it ? This conversation has come about solely because I expressed the hope that we were going to see him on 25th March, and in that context I suggested that there have been occasions in the past when he's supposed to have turned up somewhere or other for something or other and duly hasn't. That's true, there have been. But in itself, that's hardly a crime (in the context of 40 plus years of livin' a rock n' roll life), and it's also (as I hope I made clear) not necessarily an indicator that he's unlikely to turn up a week on Sunday for a gig being hosted as a tribute to the brother he recently lost. I did specifically say that given he is actually scheduled to appear, it's inconceivable - due to the nature of the event - that he wouldn't be there.

So if we see ya there on Sunday after next I shall satisfy your undying curiosity and tell you where & when that naughty Sir Ron of Kingston has in the past "not shown". Deal ?

mercy - i didn't mean to ruffle you! or anyone else.
i hadn't heard Ronnie was actually scheduled to appear on the 25th; and of course i agree that it's not important
if someone's missed an occasional appointment in the course of 40 years (rock & roll life or not).

I believe that there is a message here, since this comes from bv. I think this is his way of telling us, his followers, that the tour announcement will be on March 15 in London.
