Some 1971 tour would have been a smasher as well.

For those who have been on boird for longer than some six weeks I am known as
an open-minded person who eventually always listenb to new music...
If we shoulkd call Waters m,usic new.

Syd Barret was the mega star in Pink Floyd till he lost it...
But my fave era is around 1971 as well as mid-70s...
From The Wall my impression is that they did lost it...

But I'm always delighted if I can change my mind & get new ideas winking smiley

One Love, peace, bro!

Hey Baboon Bro. One point I would make is that,,Waters is not necessarily a great or electrifying entertainer or performer. But like when I saw David Gilmour solo,if your a Pink Floyd fan,it's nice to hear that music performed live. Waters knows how to put together a good band and deliver an entertaining show. If someone goes with the expectation that this is classic prime Pink Floyd, just like any other aging band it's not the same. But it's fun and entertaining to hear that music played live, by at least some of the people that first wrote it.

Yeah... One gotta go with the flow &
embrace the passing time... I know I am crappy bad at that...
When I see Gilmoure I get depressed.....

Yeah my buddy who went to see Gilmour with me said to me after the show. He didn't play much uptempo material. Even a little slower nowadays. But Rick Wright sounded good playing and singing. Gilmour remains an outstanding Guitar palyer as well.

I liked the Pros and Cons a lot when it surfaced. It was at least a step away from safe territoreis (if you are today's PF). Gilmore is good on guitar and can sing allright but he is just so boring to watch. Waters has the knack for somehow making it exciting although he himsel fis not a sexy dance machine. But in that video clip he was kind of fun to watch. Playing those drone notes with a passion.

He will play here in Buenos Aires, Argentina at the River Plate stadium (where the Stones played) on March 17 and 18. I have tickets for March 17 wich is already sold out.

for me Waters is within the top 5 rock icons.

Didn't mean to sound rude at all. sorry.
But Syd Barret the mega-star? He's a mega-myth for sure, but they weren't that big when he got the boot, were they?

There's only 1 full Syd Album, and it's interesting for sure. But by the time they 'didn't pick him up for a gig' - weren't the band still merely London Underground Heroes, not were mega stars yet? Wasn't Syd's career toast; well-over before they even scored their first cheap art-house film (More).

I mean, how many Syd Barret songs does the casual rock fan know? Of the few pre Dark Side songs that are known, how mnay are Syd's? How many Syd Barret songs hit the airwaves on classic rock radio?

To me, it seems that Roger got the 'Syd Guilts' once they did hit it BIG years later with Dark Side, and they did Wish You Were Here - crystalizing the Syd Myth forever.

What really stood out was how well he interacted with the audience. Lots of eye contact, smiles all night, was standing still and posed for fans who were trying to take pictures a few rows back with their small cameras. Every now and then during instrumental passages he would march back n forth with his bass, stop and wait for someones flash to go off and then he would move away...as to say, I hope you got a good shot. There was no security barricade and enjoyed shaking hands.

I just won some great tickets under cost with bar access in section 116 on E Bay for the Oakland show in June! Saw Pink Floyd in London, (Dark Side of the Moon), Paris (The Wall) and San Francisco (whatever it was they played there!). Cannot wait to hear the whole side of Dark Side of the Moon all the way through.... (this is all just in case I can't get to the stones in Europe!) Going to the Police Reunion tour too!!
