Just realized this myself after quite sometime. Its not just "jam album filler" or average. Its more than that, and should be more appreciated I think. Not great but solid (underated). Not weak by any means. Thats The Mez's decree, or simple opinion, if you prefer. Thank you for your attention to this very important matter. Don't you think too? MEZ
I forgot to mention this is only realized by listening to it 5 successive times without any other song in between. Go ahead take the "Hide your Love" challenge. I tell you it'll be a revelation! Kind of like Casino Boogie MEZ

I've also always liked that track. I would say it's a bit underdeveloped -- it doesn't go very far at all in terms of chords, lyrics and instrumentation, but Taylor's insanely heavy blues soloing and the laid back groove from the piano and rhythm section makes up for most of. If there's anyone to blame, it's probably Richards, who could have made it more of a structured song by adding some funky rhythm guitar, had he been around more. Either way, it's cool as it is, a typical second LP side song it may be.

I'm with that view. And as such it's more of a groove than a song. But it's a great groove and very infectious. If you ever catch yourself humming it under your breath...I'll guarantee that your feet are moving too ;^)

While I agree with that, how many songs (including some really great ones) could you slap that tag on?
Like much of GHS, I didn't really like it at first, but it has grown on me a lot, even if it isn't much of a song as it is a "jam". And it's so fun to clap along to.
Always thought it was pretty good, but considering it's underdeveloped status, its still surprising they included it yet left off a track as strong as "Criss Cross Mind" - NOT because its weak though, as its still better than some other tracks on that album.
