Tennessee's too far for me to travel to see them - it's not the stones after all. As it is, Boston and NYC were each going to be a 5 hr trek by the time I got the kids to my parents in CT. ugh

It is on the official Police tour website at www.thepolicetour.com on their news page. It had not yet been added to the list under tour dates on that site when I last checked. It will be a stadium show in Oakland and the public sale begins on Sunday at 10am.

The police are'nt all sold out! The most bizarrest thing,i just saw is the way they are promoting themselves. There major picture of them is a picture taken back in 79,like 28 years younger, that is there major promotion, they do have a little picture of them now below all the major color pr ,promotion shot's though in Black and White. How weird is this? That woudls be like the stones promoting 78 or 81 pictures claiming that is them now,on the A Bigger Bang tour. Some people man. Like i said i think the police is in for a rude awakening, myself, time will tell.

Agree it will be huge--biggest of the yr? Hard to say at this point--in all events no "awakening" here, rude or otherwise.

it's definetly interesting, who going to prevail on this board, the optimist,or non optimist. One thing Slide, what up with the pr shot's in color of them being 23 year's old are they embarraest what they have grown into?

I never have understood the appeal of this band - ever. They do seem to be popular, though. At least they've got talent, far more than Chris 'I'm so cool' Robinson has.

who are they marketing this to do ya think, demographically. i admit being surprised at the great interest in this...it's almost kinda sad in a way, to me. guess i just don't see it, or hear it somehow. maybe if they replaced sting i'd go tho.

i love that dream police song by cheap trick. that's about as close to this as i can get.

Freak--I have NO explanation for the photos and share your incredulity to them...

Beely--I think they are clearly, judging by ticket prices marketing to the people who grew with them in the early '80's, view them and those times through a nostalgic prism.

Hey sara. It was also announced locally on KFOG. Their even starting to give away tickets tomorrow, Wed. Even though they don't officially go on sale until Sun. They are playing indoors in Oak. as Halup said.

L.A Dodger Stadium - why a stadium show, for chrissakes?

I was looking forward to going, much less so now. However, the stage presentation I bet will be amazing. (It had better be!)

It's funny... I haven't even considered buying tickets for the Police this time around. I used to think they were great. I saw them twice in the 80s...

But I can't take them seriously now. Sting became poppy and pompous. So it's like they can now never go back to true rawness and innovation for me. And given the fact that it was well-known that they despised each other by the end of their careers together, I can't see them having any "musical electricity" between them.

I honestly don't understand all this negativity. Strictly speaking, the same arguments could also apply to the Stones. When were their days of "true rawness and innovation"? And I remember well when Mick and Keith "despised" each other at a time when nearly everybody thought it's over and yet they came back in 1989 and delivered great shows. If the Police want to come back, let em. They know they have got something to prove. This is not Sting solo, it's the Police. And I am pretty sure they won't fail. At least give 'em a chance. If it turns out a desaster, we can discuss this when it actually happens.

OK I spent an hour yesterday trying to get tickets for either Boston or NYC show show and they are all sold out. Perhaps I should have clarified my comments, but there are no seats left, and I definitely wanted to see them at Fenway after seeing the boys there. What a great experience.
