New Quiz - Mick's On Stage Lines, How Many Can You Get ?

OK, these are Micks quotes during shows - name the tour/year and city where he said these. Also, name the song that followed:

1. "Awww, we just wanna see how you look....can we see how they look? Come on....Just wanna see how they look.....(House lights come up) Ahh, we couldn't see you, we couldn't see you"

2."Here's one that Rod Stewart taught me while I was still in Kinder - Garten.... I've forgotten the words but Keith will help me out"...

3."think I gotta take a shit now"

4. "You know, sometimes you may just have to get up against the wall, ...and you may have to" (said in a VERY stern voice)

5. "Welcome to a Chinese Restaurant"

6. "Keith says I can play this if I play quietly....so I will......um, we're gonna do some numbers from SOME GIRLS album.....

7. "Who went to church this Sunday....who went to church?"

8. "Awww, you know, I don't know how much you had to pay for the f*cking tickets but I didn't have to pay much.... ah, you know, what can I tell ya...."

9. "Without too much flattery, I think, I think, you're one ...of...the best....audiences... we've had...so far...on this tour...BUT YOU GOTTA KEEP IT UP !!! Keep it up !!!"

10. "You know, we would have brought our toothbrushes if we'd know"

Bonus: "Click Clack, Click Clack...let's do that one"

Note: A word might be off here or there - give the Helter a break, these are all off the top of my head. Thank you, may the best fan WIN !!!!

Ok, Eric did pretty good, got 2/6/7/8 correct. #1 is tricky - it's in GIMME SHELTER (sound only) but.....

passaic is in north jersey; it's a small city, or say, a big town...with outlying burbs;
not too far away from newark, nj,
just a short hop, probably less than a half hour total, after u cross the hudson river, from downtown nyc. (via george washington bridge or lincoln tunnel).

Yeah, Erik, you're kicking ass. #9 was the Forum show and #10 was the late show at the Forum. Mick said it right before they kicked into JJF (now there's a 1% chance it was BETWEEN JJF and CAROL but I gave it a bit more thought and I'm 99% sure it was at the very beginning) Good job !!

Good try Erik, It's from the Earthquake Benefit show at the LA Forum, Jan,1973 right before STRAY CAT. If he did it at Knebworth I don't know cause my Knebworth tape doesn't include SCB.... #1 should be easy.....it's SO easy it's hard, one of those.....

I got the concert right but not the place during the concert on 6 or 7 of these.

One of the best N7- Who went to church today? Billy (preston) just woke up in there from last night- said with Mick's best southern drawl.

anybody remember:

"I can always sing lady jane on my own"

" Is there enough of you in down there,or should we let some more in?"

OK, Just got back and I see I did stump the gang a bit with a few of these.

#1. Was in the film GIMME SHELTER (sound only) which features the 3 MSG shows in NYC but actually comes from the Oakland / San Francisco show (Nov 9th or 10th, 1969) where the famous bootleg LIVEr THAN YOU'LL EVER BE was recorded - a poorer quality version of Mick saying all this + much more can be heard on it. The brothers who made GIMME SHELTER had soundboard recordings of many of the 1969 shows and used that one....

#3. Inglewood Forum, July 13, 1975. Mick clearly mumbled/said this twice as he was getting fed up with Keith and Ronnie taking forever to tune up their guitars. He keep pestering the 2 to get their tuning correct. This also caused NEARTBREAKER and IORR to be played in reverse order that night and also have band intro's moved around - taken out of their normal slot. Might or might not be on the boot, I have it on tape somewhere since I was at the show.....

#5. Opening night of a 5 night stand at the LA Forum, July 9th, 1975

The winner is definitely Eric "SNOWMAN" Snow. GOOD JOB SNOWMAN !!!
