The guitar sound on those albums is soooo good. Which amps did Keith use?? Does anybody know more about his amps in general? I can only find information about his current rig (the 'Vegas' era stadium tours) on the internet.
Exile: the tracks recorded in England were mostly recroded with silverface Fender Twins and Deluxe's, the tracks recorded in France and LA mostly Ampeg V-4, VT-22 and VT-40 amps.
Some Girls: almost exclusively the Mesa/Boogie Mark I amp, with reverb and EQ, Altec-Lansing speaker.
Tattoo You: the tracks recorded from 1975 and onwards were mostly recorded with the Boogie's, before that Fender and Ampeg.
But beware, most of the sound on the records is in the fingers of the producer. The fact that Some Girls sounds so brilliant is more due to Chris Kimsey than due to the kind of amps used.
Mathijs, I'm Dutch too (17 years old). You seem to know EVERYTHING about the Stones and guitars. That's why I would like to know how old you are. Do you play in a band? Does that band have a website? How did you all that information? Please answer!
