Lukester, in my senior yearbook (1978), I'm posing in some sorta John Travolta look-a-like suit. You know, white suit, black silk shirt, stupid haircut. Thanks goodness clothes have changed.

"Some kinda fashion ......"

Rush is touring this Summer. I hear a July 4th date near Buffalo. A very talented band...but they use a lot of effects and loops live...so I am always wondering: are they live or not?

A lot of great bands mentioned above. But I will add one more: the original George Thorogood and the Destroyers. Bass, drums and George. I saw them in 1978 or 79 and they had a handmade sign on the drum kit: 'world's largest 3 piece band'...and it was true. They sounded like there were 4 or 5 people on stage...with Thorogood playing lead and rhythm at the same time...sometimes playing sax lines on the guitar. A great live band, that was at it;s best as a 3 piece. Last I saw they had become a 5 piece.

Honorable mention to Emerson Lake and Palmer...a very good live act.

THE POLICE--just listened to Regatta de Blanc and Zenyatta back to back--freaking great songs, great, great playing by all especially the drumming which is not of this world). You have to be close to musically retarded not to hear the greatness of this band. Though, I guess tone-deaf would probably get you to the same sad place. lol

STEVIE RAY & Double Trouble (although they were more a guitar god and 2 players while very good did not get your attention in the same way)

RUSH--vastly underrated band--according to Sammy Hagar it was, in large part because their management was grossly incompetent.

Cream.

Haven't heard other bands that can belt out 15 minute songs, and still sound interesting. Great band!

Other good three piece combos:

Jimi Hendrix Experience
The Police
Wolfmother
Mötorhead
Jon Spencer's Blues Explosion
