Yes, last summer he cancelled his participation with Roy Harper at some kind of festival (I think it was the knee though).

Don't think this will happen (I sure hope it does) but there are a couple of good signs: All three of them were together last year in Sweden for the something awards and Plant's projet with the Honeydrippers fell off with Ahmet Ertegun's passing.

Lets cross our fingers and hope that we'll get Zep back on tour....Hope not only Police and Genesis reunite (just not on the same league)

I think the Stones have infuelnced all these reunions. Think about it, think about all the money to be made. But there is one problem with these bands and comparing them to the Stones - the Stones never went away. All these bands are hoping that all the fans are still there and the momentum is still the same.

The Kiss reunion was different in that there were so many young fans who were too young to see the original line up but still remembered the mayhem, myself included. They wanted there time and fare share of Kiss-mania.
But are there as many young fans who feel the same about Zeppelin? If anyone has any memory of times when Zeppelin was around they would have to be in their 30s at least. Is this the big concert going age? I don't know... But it would appear that the big draw would be those who remembered Zeppelin in their hey day. Do these people still go to shows like they use to? Again, I don't know... but I hope so.

I have been a fan of Zeppelin since 1984 and these reunion rumours have been going on forever and they always included Jason Bonham so this one doesn't sound any different. It would be nice if this rumor came true.

The reunion rumours are utter rubish. The Sun story is five years old, I remember reading it at the time. You can tell by the ages they give for the band members and the length of time they say the band has been broken up - the numbers were correct five years ago but not now. Here's a link to the Sun article: [www.thesun.co.uk]

It doesn't have the date it was published on it, and some overeager DJ saw it, either didn't know or didn't care it was old, and started reporting it like it was a new rumour. Then everyone else started picking up on it. Here's a BBC article that came out at the same time as the Sun article, I remember reading that one at the time as well, and it does have a date on it: [news.bbc.co.uk] Case closed!

I don't blame people for being excited if they didn't know it is an old story ... and I wouldn't put it past Clear Channel to be behind this rumour for whatever devious reasons.

I'll buy one. Lately I've been having an urge to fight the hordes while screaming "Valhalla I am coming!" Which if I'm not mistaken is ancient Norse for "you gangbangers get the hell out of my parking lot!"

yes, ohno....you certainly know your ancient Norse...although that particular phrase doesn't specifically refer to a parking lot per se, and the old Norse version of gangbangers was more reminiscent of those pillagers depicted today in our Capital One commercials......but otherwise, you are right on target with that interpretation, ohno.....I will be sending you a baker's dozen of these now obsolete hammers.

Maybe you can paint them (Maxwell's) silver and sell them at a Beatles reunion tour.

I'm on it.....Note to self: cancel that call to Habitat For Humanity....tell them you were looking for Jimmy Carter......don't mention the now hot Maxwell Silver Hammers

Send 'em one to bonk Carter in the head with. BTW, his old beer drinking brother, Billy was a hoot. Well known to many around here. Plains is about 45 miles from me.

Did I say parking lot? I meant seaport. "You gangbangers stop raping and pillaging in my seaport or I will be forced to lay ye olde smack down upon thee."

All bulljiving aside, I'd really like to see JPJ playing that opening to "No Quarter".

They are gonna make the Stones look... well...

I doubt there'll be sampling, click tracks, backup guitarists or back-up vocals.

Y'all can fill in the blanks!

F&%$ING LOVE ZEP!!!!!!!

Do they still make Billy Beer?

No, alas, that vile tasting stuff went the way of Billy himself. It tasted like a low grade Pabst Blue Ribbon (yeah, I know that's redundant).

Note to self: Quit using words like alas and redundant before somebody thinks I've got good sense.

They don't seem to have much of a choice but to dip into the past - well known songs, lesser known songs, played, unplayed - they're all old songs unless they go with some Page & Plant material or solo material.
Zeppelin,at this stage, could better justify than the Stones a greatest hits warhorse set as they haven't played any of the Zeppelin songs as Zeppelin for about 27 years.A well balanced mix is always the best way to go for bands with alot of material, though.

It's worth pointing out that Zeppelin had very few hits, I think maybe 2 or 3 songs in the top 40 total. Of course they seem like hits now because they've stood the test of time and are played on classic rock radio every ten seconds. Stairway To Heaven, which is probably radio's most played song of all time, was never released as a single.

Stairway was never released as a single? Wow,never knew that. But I could actually probably go to a Zep concert and not miss certain songs like Stairway,WHole Lotta Love,Black Dog, Rock & Roll. Just because I listen to a lot of FM radio and hear the same shit all the time.

i pray this is untrue. i love the Zep but to think of them dragging the good name over the coals just for a few quid depresses me

its gone. leave it that way

Plant has plenty of creative juices in him still. thats what he should keep doing

Elmo, you ever try any of that "Billy Beer"?

Oh, yeah, bad stuff. Words aren't strong enough to describe the vile witches brew that it was. Think low grade Pabst. Worse than the generic beer that was out at one time. Keith wrote a song about it - "The Worst"

1cdog - R U from my part of the world - Southeastern USA? I think we're the only ones who knew about Billy beer. I even had a can of J. R. beer right after J. R. was shot on Dallas!

I think they made Billy Beer out of what fell on the floor while they were brewing Pabst.
