I hope it's not the next concert I go to, but SEVEN months from now, I've got tickets to see U2 play the 75,000-seat Spartan Stadium in East Lansing Michigan, their first gig in East Lansing since they played a bar show there in 1981. This will only be the second concert ever held at the 87-year-old home of the Michigan State Spartans. The Stones played there in '94.

Right now it's Alice in Chains in Feb. But still seriously considering America next weekend.

Thinking about going to see Robert Gordon & The Gang They Couldn't Hang (love that name), featuring Chris Spedding, Glen Matlock, and Slim Jim Phantom, next Sunday in Detroit.

February 3, Le Nozze di Figaro, opera by Wolfgang Amadé Mozart, greatest composer of all times. Second place: Jagger/Richards/(Taylor). Third place: Randy Newman. Fourth place: young Melanie Safka.

You guys probably never have experienced a performance of one of the three greatest operas of W.A. Mozart. But I can tell you that attending them (Don Giovanni for example, that archetype of a rock 'n roll junky) belongs to my most impressive musical experiences. The other one? Well, I was there when The Stones had reached their ultimate peak, playing like real devils in Rotterdam, in the holy Stones-year 1973, guided by the Great Mick Taylor.

U2 June 20, 2010 at Qwest Field, Seattle. Very good seats.

A bit late with a concert report,but we saw "The Blind Boys of Alabama"last month in Perth,Ontario they were bloody amazing,and just before them it was Keb Mo in Ottawa,I just love that guy,really laid back cool performer with a great band,sorry again its in retrospect to the post.

Also if anybody gets the chance go and see "Bella Fleck and the Flecktones"if they are still going? one of the best concerts I have ever seen,musicians to die for.
