Saw Deep Purple in Seoul this past weekend. Not bad, but would love to have seen Glenn Hughes with them. That said, I like Ian Gillan but Glenn brings a lot of energy. His work with the Dead Daisies was great and he's doing well now on tour, or soon.

Continuing on Ben Harper tour. Aspen at the Belly Up last night was big fun except for the entitled ahole behind me who talked the entire show despite multiple people telling him to shut up. Next stop Boulder Colurado.

Tickets are hard to come by, managed one via Ticketmaster official resale on show day (today) after a number of failed attempts, only a few hours before show start. Am on my way by train.

Quick note on last night’s Olivia Dean concert, OVO Hydro, Glasgow (April 23, second night of her first arena tour).
I have never seen the arena packed like this (the floor level was standing). Ninety percent of the audience was female.
Her rapid, meteoric rise to stardom was something unpredictable. When the tour including four London O2 shows was announced last year, many commented they were far too many, too ambitious etc. But all the dates went sold out instantly and two more London shows were added as was an extra night for Glasgow and Manchester, respectively. As she told to the Glasgow crowd, she played King Tut’s Wah Wah two years ago in front of an audience of 300 and now this. It gives an impression that her popularity has suddenly blown up from a club act to an arena act, skipping a theatre level. Another strange ‘femininomenon’.
