A Toronto band, The Beaches, I saw (as headliners) last year and really enjoyed. If you haven't checked then out yet they're having a good run currently and might be worth a look.

I believe the Beaches opened for the Stones at the (logistical nightmare) Burl’s Creek show in 2019. They have done pretty well since.

Saw a pretty good jazz trumpeter a few nights ago. Theo Croker. Grandson of Doc Cheatham. Mentored by Donald Byrd. Good stuff.

Tomorrow (Oct. 4th) I am going to "Sonic Sleepover," which is a one-day event (sleeping over is optional) hosted by Wilco's bass player, John Stirratt, held at his lakeside place here in Maine, with other Wilco members and several other fun acts, some local and some not. Last year Nels Cline performed, and I got to chat with him for 20 minutes or so while standing in line at a food truck. All musicians are very approachable throughout the day, and the setting is very rural, woodsy, a former summer camp turned rustic resort of sorts. It's blissful.

Jeff Tweedy is in town in a couple weeks; I'm psyched for that show as well. And then I have a ticket for Julian Lage's solo show.

I love where I live. (I kinda wish we could secede from the rest of the country at the moment, but that's another story).

Cave used to tour Japan fairly often from the mid 80s through the 90s.
When the Bad Seeds played at Fuji Rock Festival ‘98, there was a trouble with the organizers involving antics in the dressing room. After that, Cave stopped coming to Japan completely. A huge loss for his fans in Japan.

Jeff Tweedy, tonight. I'm a huge Wilco fan... Tweedy's latest triple LP is fantastic.

Just grabbed one of the few remaining balcony seats for next weekend's Herbie Hancock show at Ann Arbor, Michigan's 3500-seat Hill Auditorium. Back at the same venue November 7th with VIP tix (2nd row center) for Boz Scaggs.
