Count yourself lucky monkey man. In South Florida we don’t get the good smaller bands at all. No real market for them here.

I was wrong about her possibly playing Glastonbury this year -- so that'll probably happen in 2027 now I guess. She may release her sophomore album about then, too. But I figured you'd see her a second time before I did, as I don't travel very far for concerts. I'm not going to any of her shows in Queens next month, waiting instead expecting a major N.Am. tour next year.

Yep. From O2 Academy Glasgow (cap. 2,500) last year to Royal Highland Centre, the vast showgrounds adjacent to Edinburgh Airport (South Arena — cap. 35,000). And two nights this time (I attended the first). The ticket price also rises from 21 quid to 65 (plus fees). Chappell was already a sensation the first time around but what a difference eleven months have made!

Thanks for the links. A 4, a 4 1/2, and a 5 star review, and from the articles Tuesday's show sounds like it was quite an event. Yeah, she's definitely the fastest riser from basicslly unknown to to megastar in a long time. And, even better, IMO it was all on merit. She's that good. Lesbians embraced her bigger faster and more passionately than anybody else ever, is my impression, and formed a very substantial if o/w little known base for her in 2023. But then after the album dropped in Sep 2023, masses of us straights slowly started finding her music, just for the number of brilliant and powerful songs on it. A lot of us love the album for itself, totally in the absence of any special bond to Chappell's sexual evolution, situation and complaints that her most ardent fans clearly identify with.
Both big Edinburgh shows, Tuesday and Wenesday, sold out quickly when announced last year. And yet for some reason the venue or promoter can't seem to give clear information on crowd size. The various stories are of the Edinburgh show crowds as 35,000 each, OR almost 60,000 Tuesday alone, OR 60,000 each of the two nights. Why promoters won't just say how many fuggin tickets they sold in sell-out crowds is beyond me. If you want to protect your performers when shows don't sell out, there's some reason to do that. But sell-out shows like this week, why the hell not? Since Tuesday was Chappell's biggest show as headliner to date (which our May 23, 2024 Richmond crowd was at a mere 6,530 at that time), why so much confusion? Just say how big the two sell-outs were.

I definitely will if I remember. I’m not very eloquent so don’t expect too much!
