I was thinking about going to see Jorma next Friday. I'm really not even such a big Jorma fan. In fact, the one time I did see him, 40 years ago, I got bored and walked out after eight or nine songs. But I haven't heard any live music at all since Oct. 2019, and desperation is setting in.

Was a bit surprised by the $60 tickets, but still didn’t hesitate to get them. Saw Mastodon (with Opeth, who I don’t particularly care for) at The Ryman (legendary venue, but you probably already knew that) on the front row for the same price a few months ago.

Baroness let ticket holders vote for their top 10 songs they want them to play. They will play the top 10 vote getters for each city. Very cool.

Buddy Guy at his club on Friday, January 7th.

Been to about half dozen pub gigs in last 10 days,including one this Saturday late afternoon /early evening 3 hours or more on stage today, and all in SW London as well as Epsom, where I now live.
Really terrific gigs all of them with great local bands and solo gig with Peter Bruntnell at Queen Adelaide pub in Epsom, where he was the highlight gig and last performer to go on stage the day before New Years Eve.

A really good performance.

Looking forward to a few more pub gigs in next few weeks, but no big name acts, but Pryzm venue in Kingston could have a few if no lockdown happens.

Will keep my eyes and ears open, and hoping for the best.

No tickets until March—then Buddy Guy.

Buddy Guy on both January 8th and January 27th, both at his club Legends in Chicago!

Every year he plays 16 shows at Legends... they've become to be known locally as the Buduary shows!

How were they when you saw them?

I saw them in 2012, just before disaster struck with the tour bus accident. Then in 2016, right after the release of purple. Then in 2019 i saw them play as the main act on a true where they were mostly a support act.
2012 was great. 2016 a bit less so but in 2019 they had a new lead guitarist. She's really good. They were really on that night maybe because they had an audience that just came for them. They said so a couple of times "you really give us energy".

Collie Buddz. I saw him last night and the show was so good I bought tickets to go again to another show next week. For those who like reggae, check him out. Great show and energy. He brought a couple folks out of the crowd to sing a song with him. Can you imagine Mick doing that completely unrehearsed?

Just managed to score a face value ticket for the long sold-out "The War on Drugs" (Lo-Moon, Dave Stewart's son's band are opening) next Saturday at the world famous Olympia Hall ;-)

But it's such a massive year for live music there definitely will be more. I've considered Jack White down in Portsmouth VA, but you just never know what that guy's gonna do next. Want to see Lydia Loveless, but that's another trip to Chapel Hill. Wouldn't mind seeing Black Keys & Band of Horses, or Brandi Carlisle again, but those are trips to Laurel MD. Would love to see Amyl and the Sniffers, but the closest they're getting is Baltimore.

Built To Spill, Leon Bridges, or Beach House in Richmond, and Blondie or the Strokes in DC, are all possibilities.
