He is a top notch entertainer. The guy is an absolute blast live, always a good time, and an extremely talented musician. Some people are great studio musicians, some are talented writers, some are wildly innovative players. Kid Rock is just one kickass live performer.
Check him out some time, you won't be disappointed. In my humble opinion...
He's playing a few miles from me next month, I wouldn't mind seeing him, but since there are so many good concerts I have tickets for, I'll have to pass
Quick follow up:
The Twisted Brown Trucker Band is the best band on tour right now.
They ripped through "Tumbling Dice" the other night.
Check them out if you can!

Serendipity,coincidence or plain good luck...I dunno,but after Les Paul's passing an aquaintance was telling me how LP had a weekly residence at a Manhattan club ('Sweet Basil's' he thinks) but this chap never went to see the Great Man...as he puts it,
"The trouble is, when people play every week, you tend to think they'll play... every week."
This brought to mind the time when I passed up the chance to see another Guitar Hero,Mr. James Burton.Idling this morning I searched online to see if JB is playing any dates in my area...
Lo and behold,at The Floral Pavillion in New Brighton,The International Guitar Festival is being held.JB is playing on Sunday 22nd November.Result!
Oh yeah,some bloke called Wyman and his Rhythm Kings are appearing on November 12th too.

which isn't the easiest to use re tour dates,and I can only see that one UK show!
That Sunday I'm already in Nottingham for the second of two Specials shows but I'm not gonna miss this opportunity...again.

Los Lobos, here in Atlanta, on August 28th.
Very psyched up.....I think they are one of the most creative and versatile bands on the planet.

Been a terrible year for concerts. Might go see Frampton next weekend. I have NEVER seen him, tickets ain't too expensive, and he's playing a venue that's only half the size of the one he usually plays when he comes around here.
