Hey Stikkyfinger,

Good music on your myspace, and love the "Greatest Bits". Are they the BU singers of your band?

Hi Liddas,

No the Mersey Beatles are the resident Beatles Tribute Band at the Cavern, so they play there every week. Mersey Beatles Website

I have a contact who knows them well, so they let me play the first two songs of their second set with them. These guys are REALLY talented! I opened the set with Brown Sugar (which the Mersey Beatles were familiar with) and the place went nuts. I followed with You Can't Always Get What You Want, which they didn't know so well, which is why you can hear me shouting out the chords. It was completely unrehearsed, lol!

Anyway, the Cavern asked me back the next night to play with another local band who had some Stones songs in their set. I was more than happy to oblige and I played Little Red Rooster, HTW,JJF and Brown Sugar again.

I think that Stikkyfingers may get a gig at the Cavern out of this, but we'll see.

Thanks for your kind words about my original songs, four of which can be heard here Walk Don't Walk/Stikkyfingers myspace

This is the baby I'm currently spending most of my time on. I haven't touched a 6 string electric for a long time, though I still pick up the acoustic once or twice a week...

I don't have any pictures.

For sitting around the house, beach, parties, etc...and for recording demos and on records is some kind of Guild acoustic. I don't know what kind it is but it wasn't cheap either. D'Addario light gauge strings

For live shows, recording and demos, my Epiphone Riviera, it's red. It's a mid-late 1960s from what I can tell (serial number is smudged). Ernie Ball Super Slinky light gauge. I didn't do it but the knobs go up to 11...

A cheap Mexico or China, some cheap ass place, Fender Squier for 5 string only, tuned to open G...Ernie Ball Super Slinky lights or mediums but will soon be a mish mash of guages.

AMPS:
Fender Super - (with NO reverb - I killed it on purpose) for shows and recording
Fender Deluxe - live only
Fender Champ - recording only
Fender Mini - demos only

PEDALS:
Dunlop Crybaby Wah-Wah
Marshall Guv'nor...uh, GV2? The second one...
MXR Phase 90
some tuning pedal that a lot of people use, it's white...I can never remember its name...

No Peavey or Crate allowed....

That's cool, playin' at the Cavern and that's a nice version of YCAGWYW.
Probably good for them to hear some Stones songs for a change, hehe.
go and get that gig, Ian.

Didn't see this clip before now...
Very good version of YCAGWYW, I'll say. Difficult to make that one sound right, but it did, here.

Thankyou Eric. It's open g tuning and I'm singing it a bit like Mick. The rest of the guys did a good job considering they've never played it before....the audience did the rest.

To be honest open-g, I was a little unsure of the reaction I would get playing Stones songs at the Cavern, but only because there are so many Beatles songs being played there all the time (as you might expect). It's true that they don't always just play Beatles songs though. Also, on the night, the Cavern had a lot of Norwegians in as they were playing Everton (they lost 6 - 1, but it didn't seem to bother them), so perhaps they were more 'into' the Stones, lol!

I'll let you know when/if we get a gig there.

Hello, everyone

I don't have actual pictures of my guitars, so I've had to go to some stores' websites. anyway, here are my babies.

First, here is my Fender American Standard Telecaster, given to me as a birthday present from my girlfriend:

Then, my Squier Tele, which I keep at school in my classroom (I'm a teacher):

My Epiphone Les Paul Ultra:

and finally my acoustic Seagull Entourage Rustic:

I love 'em !!!
