c'mon, with all due respect, this isn't high school band, the guy is a professional. I would use his arthritis as an *excuse* before the 5th to 12th excuse.

C'mon. Even after you've played it about 15,000 times?
Actually, I forget what show it was I heard last, but on that nite at least, he nailed it.
I've pondered this and do you think it could be a visual problem? Maybe he can't see the frets that well. I have seen photos of Keith with reading glasses. Time for a contact lens maybe?

Yeah, I love playing around with the open-g. Hard to find original sounds though as it almost always sounds similar to a Stones lick (not that that's bad).
HTW SMU OUt Of Time Wild Horses Dead Flowers Last Time Satisfaction Beast JJF Miss You Till The Next Goodbye Imagination Under My Thumb - fun to play the riff
but will try any of 'em.

Those are all fun! The Last Time is really strange-a nine fret hammer on. And I have a HTW tape with just one guitar, but I still can't get it down exactly. It's nice to hear on it's own though.

Interesting, where is that from? could you post it on Hot Stuff? that would be nice
I too have noticed Keith arse this up every now and again. Sometimes he nails it and sometimes he does'nt. Like everything concerning Keiths playing, dodgy didgits aside, I put it down to how much he's had to drink!

you have got to be kidding me. Anyone can play that intro after a few months of playing.
A collector friend of mine sent it to me. It is the studio version. As for posting it I'd be glad to if I knew how. I guess I need to transfer it to cd.
I tell you what!! He wrote the damn song!!! He can play it any way he wants!! Just show up to Atlantic City and he can play tip toe through the tulips, as far as im concerned!! This is the last show on the East Coast of the U.S. Lets be thankful he is alive
Unaware that this board was reserved for professional players who never screw up. Please send me the name of your band/CD so I can pick them up and enjoy your immense talents.
Keith does kind of ask for the stick he gets about this . He does regularly screw up the openings of BS and JJF ...especially when it's the opening song ! I reckon it's largely because he's more interested in making an entrance than playing his bloody guitar half the time ;^)

It can't be visual, I mean, I can play a lot of Stones songs, no matter what the tuning, in pitch darkness, so I guess Keith can surely do way better than I do. Guess it's the hands ...
