Sincerest condolences to the Jagger family. Mr Jagger Senior must have been very very proud of his two sons.

I had the good fortune to see Chris Jagger with a slimmed down version of his Atcha band at the Bulls Head in Barnes not that long ago. Joe Jagger, who must have been 90 or 91 at the time, was in attendance. It was lovely to see him at that grand old age, out there watching one of his two sons performing, sipping a pint and enjoying the show

To Mick Jagger: My sympathies to you and your family. I know how it is I lost my dad last year on the 21st of November. It will be a year on the 21st this year that he is gone. Can we all just use this forum to express our condolences instead of trying to determine the 'correctness' of Mick's response, whatever it will be, re. cancelled shows etc.????

The man's fater has died. This forum is supposed to be about HIM, not ticketholders and such.

Let's not judge his grieving process against anything other than what HE wants to do and leave it at that.

MB,

Your posts remind me a bit of Oscar Wilde's quotation:

"To lose one parent may be regarded as a misfortune; to lose both looks like carelessness."

That might be funny in a play, and appropriate with the healing tide of time, but right now it's a little bit cold, a little bit callous for a lot of fans and somewhat uncalled for in a world where we're too often left with the dead burying the dead.

I appreciate you're straight-forwardness and your consistency, but I'd ask: let the man rest, let the son gain some repose, and let the fans grieve.

What can it hurt?

Mick, so sorry you lost Joe, your beloved Dad.

I too thank you for Las Vegas, and I saw that the audience was worthy of
your efforts. Very powerful show and exchange of energies.

That's exactly how I feel. I mean, it makes a difference at what age someone dies and if it is expected or not. But when my mother passed away at age 80 I needed time to realize it even though it was not unexpected. During the first three days up to the funeral I always wondered why people were condolescending me. That may sound strange but it was only at the funeral that I fully realized that she was gone, and from that day on I really griefed for her.
But then, I could let her go because she had been very weak and very ill. As she had never wanted to stay in an old people's home it was better for her to pass away instead of lying helplessly in a hospital bed for years.

I guess that this is also what Mick Jagger must be feeling. Having you parents for so long that they can enjoy their son's success for decades is also something to be grateful for. And as we know that Mick Jagger always was on good terms with his parents we can also assume that he can let his father go now at such a blessed age.

Nevertheless we all wish him all the best in his mourning.
