No updates to Chuck's diary for ages!
Posted by: thecitadel ()

Nothing new from Chuck for a couple of weeks - has he been telling us too much inside information and Mick has censored him?? Or just tired from 14 months on the road...

It is usually an interesting and informative record of life on the road.

He's busy buying new Wrangler jeans.

Seriously, I enjoy getting inside info but...come on....it's so detailed about his daily activities...pretty soon we're going to know his bathroom schedule.

They forgot Chuck on the B-stage in Seattle, so I heard at least.

I wonder where he ate or shopped in the last few cities. The suspense has been killing me! He seems to be doing a good job of milking the tour for his own benefit. Seems like the shows are secondary to entertaining his own clients in the Rattlesnake Inn and enjoying meals with both clients and Rose Lane. He should stop trying to dress like Mick as well, he looks ridiculous despite all his workouts.

One of the things that amused me was when he mentioned that he bought jean jacket SIZE SMALL!

I know these guys are small but that sort of surprised me. What is ROnnie? Extra small? Is there a pre-requisite that you need to be physically small to be in the band...so as not to make the 4 stones look tiny? sort of like casting a tom cruise movie. winking smiley

Average height of the Stones is probably 5' 8"

Chuck's diary does a good job at deflating the ROCK & ROLL mystique.
Keith probably gets pedicures.

Yes, Chuck's blog is a major ego trip. And the description on his home page of his talent as a musician is rather over the top.

ouch....be careful, he might read this. i think we have him to thank for keeping his finger on the pulse of the FAN BOARDS. He has influence on the setlist. So..to paraphrase the guy from the GIMME SHELTER movie...if you don't watch it "you ain't gonna hear no NEW music!!".

Just kidding...rip away.

Does he ever put his notebook down? All those details can't be from his memory.

I just went to his site to see if there was an update...skimmed through.....he actually criticizes waitresses at restaurants in his diary. wow..plays keyboards for the Stones and eats out at nice restaurants, I'd bitch about the small stuff too. Must be nice. How often does he mentioned the fact that he's with the Stones to get a free meal or a free pair of $25 Wranglers?

I hope he doesn't put out a documentary dvd called BEING CHUCK.

I think BEING CHUCK would be quite amusing to see.
Sub title LIVING THE GOOD LIFE

If it were filmed in his writing style we would catch teensie glances of his employers but many scenes featuring waitresses, salesclerks, asskissing and environmental speeches and, of course, few insights into any kind of music, Stones or otherwise.

To be fair, perhaps this website is really aimed more at his relatives, friends and neighbors.

Mick and Cohl certainly won't let Chuck spill the beans on Beacon week, particularly with a lawsuit pending.

It sounds like he is headed for a job as a food critic when the tour is over.

After all the time he spent on the Beacon set list with Mick, there were still 7 war horses and 4 songs that have been played somewhat regularly on this tour (Shattered, All Down the Line, You got the Silver and Live with Me). That leaves 8 rarities, which is generous because the 8 includes As Tears Go By, Far Away Eyes and She was Hot which have gotten some play on this tour. The 2002 theater set lsits were far more daring.

Dire Straits' keyboardist Guy Fletcher fulfills the same function for Mark Knopfler. But be fair, how different is it from Bill Wyman publishing a 500-page biography which stops at Hyde Park and you learn more about his bank balance each month than you do about what it was like being a Rolling Stone?

bill wyman's a nitwit........always a downer. i think darryl jones has contributed more than billy. (i know i'm probably wrong....just don't like BW...gut feeling)
darryl has never even rented BARELY LEGAL.

chuck's travel guide has some potential use. at least now we know where to stalk them in chicago. also...he said they have underwear & socks for a good price at Macy's Dept. Store. Now that's helpful any way you slice it. winking smiley

You're right. If we ever have any money again, we could go shopping Chuck's way. Love those frequent mentions of Ralph Lauren. Puh-lese.

I always love that type of random sentence based on nothing but speculation. "Obviously".

If that is true, aliimente, I think he let out something that someone didn't want.
As I recall, didn't he have remarks about why the AC show was cancelled that may have gone beyond the official word?

Dang it, I was reading those diary entries with interest!

how often does he post on his diary? i think he saves up a bunch of entries and enters them all at once..........i don't think he uploads his entries the day that he writes.

as for alimente's claim that "obviously a decision has been made to stop this
diary".....nah........doubt it...Chuck's exhausted from trying on free cowboy boots.

Was he the model for Papa Smurf or the Keebler Elves?

I cant say more details sorry but the masters have a keen eye on their employees if they get a bit too ambitious and try to step out of the background into focus a bit too much.

theres a public image of the Stones that the Stones are Mick, Keef, Charlie & Ronnie and they want to keep this image intact.

"Gotcha!" (Mick - or Cohl? - on Chuckies diary)

I could be wrong, I thought I read that he said something about the Beacon shows comming up...Looking back, I don't see anything now.

Thanks, alimente. Maybe it was just him revealing too much about the
general goings-on, stuff that seems to others to go agains the image.

They are the only Stones, the others are backing musicians. It's cool to see and meet them but they are not Rolling Stones. Darn lucky to share the stage with them though, how great of job would that be?

Boys and girls, moms and dads, Chuck hasn't posted a diary simply because he hasn't been able to get to it. Nothing more than that.
