At 9 in 1981 - I found my mom's old mono copy of Out Of Our Heads, checked out the sleeve, though Mick was funny-looking, and put on Side 2 first.

Satisfaction came on, I was hooked.

Always aware of them, but sadly enough, didn't "discover" them until my 41st year.

I was 12 in 1989 when I first heard the songs from Steel Wheels on cassette. My friends dad would drive us to the mountain for a day of skiing (my first times ever) and he played the cassette the whole way there. I was hooked.

6 years old, around Christmas 1989. I heard Mixed Emotions on the radio and changed my life, my dad bought me the Steel Wheels LP the same week. Then he bought me Hot Rocks on cassette, I heard it non stop during months (and years).

My wife and I went to see the Stones in 1994 when she was 6 months pregnant. JJF was the last song that night. My son has always said it was his favorite song and still is. I think he heard the show in the womb. BTW, he's been to SEE them since.

In 1971, aged 11.
There seem to be quite a few of us who picked up on them at that sort of age don't there...and at times when most of our mates were getting into the popular "teen" bands of the day. I wonder what drew us to the stones ? Was it the actual music at that age ?..or were we all just drawn towards something that just felt that bit more "dangerous" ? I'm sure that was a factor for many. After that, the bond grew stronger and we've loved them ever since.

[There was actually a precursor to my later affiliation with the Stones...when I was about 5 or 6 I saw them on Top of the Pops and thought that Mick was a brilliant clown ! I laughed at him hysterically. I have no other memories of watching TV at that age. It was odd how it stuck in my mind. I've never been able to remember which song it was [could have been 'cloud] .]

Yes, that's really true.
I had to do a report for school about a famous band...I decided to take The Rolling Stones, just because nobody did it, but I didn't know them really.
I was amazed about their history, 37 years old and still alive. My mother bought me a CD, and escecially Let's Spend The Night Together found my ardor.
More and more, I drilled me into the matter, until 370 CD's and DVD's today.

My first gig was in 2003, Olympiahalle Munich, and this year, I also flew to Paris...
So, sometimes, school has a sense... ;-)

Reminds me of when my son met Bill last year, and
the Great Bassist said: "You must be Oscar, aarnt you?"
(his manager had probably told him his name earlier)
and they found out both played the bass...
Imagine if you would experience such an encounter at age 12...

I was 9 when I got Hot Rocks, played it everyday. At 13, I caught Gimme Shelter on regular tv. Their image struck me as the coolest thing ever. I went through the yellow pages and found a broker that sold concert tickets for MSG. Got tickets for me and a friend opening night at the Garden in 75 for $22.50 each ($10.00 over face, that was alot!) It was the most amazing night ever and I have been hooked ever since!
