Keith was OK at Chicago!

I have listened to this

and some Keith bashing and concern about his health I think is no appropriate. Our human riff is Ok, as can be heard from those solos ....

Doesnt seem to bad either, on the pics.

On the other hand I know people who did look healthy one day,
then * dang * drop dead the next.

Yes, but this can happen always. I just read that he played bad, and from the SFTD can be heard that he played, at least on this song, nicely.

Will check this out.
He has been bashed all along the way.
He will be playing for many years on.

the conditions were so bad at that show that it effected everyone - we were about 15 feet above him on stage and could see him huddled in front of charlie most of the night. he just stopped playing at times and had to try to warm his hands a lot. i have never keith bashed before but i have seen him play better shows on this tour (and this was my 18th) - soldier field last year, for example, a mind-blowing satisfaction solo (and in san diego too) - they made me like the song again.

or at least, i've seen him have a much better time and the better time he's having, the better he plays.

Amen to that

Let's cut all the crap about Keith's health.

We know it stems from a genuine affection and concern for the guy, and in that respect it's understandable... but it's been getting rather silly and hysterical again of late.
Remember all the complete bollocks that was posted around here in May and June ?
Haven't we learned anything ?

It was in order to respond to some of the nonsense posted back in May that I originally signed up on this forum...so be warned there might be even bigger idiots than me out there who'll inflict themselves on you...if you're not careful ;^) ]

[FWIW, Keith has always screwed things up on stage. It's a function of the way he plays. He just wings everything and lives in the zone. It doesn't always come off ;^) On the other hand, when did you last hear him nail backing vox on stage like he does on that Dead Flowers from Louisville ? Give him a break and enjoy the show.]

Come, LQ, it was hell freezes over-weather, right?
The responsibility is on the management, 100%.

Keith is the man, however, who in the heck schedules an outdoor concert in Chicago in October and expects great weather?

yes, that's what i'm saying - everyone was affected, he looked like he was suffering with his hands, and he didn't look like he was having a good time. he seems to play better when he's having fun - he wasn't having fun from what i could see. it was tough for everyone, including me, who was underdressed in order to look good.

since around the time wanting to hear some variety in the set-lists became "whining"

Is "management" a reference to (someone's) higher power or Cohl or....?
Yeah, these past 2, 4 years I've felt deep concern for Ron Wood and his series of slips/rehabs (seems to be doing better than Pete Doherty - no "well that's like saying Sly Stone's doing better than Wilson Pickett" quips, pleeze), Charlie with his throat cancer between tours, and Keith's arthritis and especially the Fiji fall from grace.
But at some shows since then our Stones have exceeded my own elevated expectations just as they may fall unexpected flat on their wizened faces on occasion as well...

I agree! I was section A5, and although Keith did spend a good deal of time over by Charlie, he shined when he had to. Solo on She Was Hot was the solo of the night, (at least live...I haven't listened to the YouTube one yet)...and his leads on Tumblin' Dice and Sympathy were great too. He is an arthritic old man, and the cold just took some life out of him...I doubt it was anything more.

underdressed meaning, i had a long raincoat on which wasn't too warm and lost my hat. no visible skin, other than my face!

We can all be VERY PROUD of Midnight Toker (who met Keith last night in Seattle) and Little Queenie freezing in Chicago but looking GREAT.

As "Fernando" (Billy Crystal on Saturday Night Live) taught us -- "It is better to LOOK Good than to feel good. Midnight Toker and Little Queenie pulled off both.

The moral is...for those of us who may actually be allowed into the Beacon on October 31 get those sharp threads together and LOOK GOOD!

I'm sure right now CindyC is in a complete state of agony waiting for further news of the Beacon. Start planning that special LOOK baby. I'm rooting for you!

Thanks for routing for me!
Yeah, it's been hell! I've had to double up on the booze and pills and powders just to cope (not really, I'm a mommy, can't do that stuff no mo)

I will admit to having run a few outfits through my head if I am one of the lucky ones. I hope Woody and I don't wear the same outfit, that would be so embarrassing for everyone. I wonder if Woody buys his clothes of the kids rack. He is so tiny!
