That is always so sad to see how m,any studio tracks do not feature him on Bass. Yet it is a fact:
Stones with Bill Wyman = Stones have the rock and the roll.
Stones without Wyman - no more roll.
The 81 tour is often cited as his finest hour. IMO 78 is even better. And 69/70 his best. Ya-Yas is that band firing on all cylinders. Taylor and Keith weave like it's no one's business, Charlie was on fire, and Bill was walking his octaves up and down the neck.

Nothing brilliant, and not "best," but a favorite "ear candy" moment that comes to mind is when he and Keith play together in the brief instrumental break at around the 2:30 mark of LITTLE T&A.

I only just this week saw for the first time the Stones' LIVE AT THE MAX (on humble TV) and was surprised how thrilled I was when they flashed on Bill. I'm more a fan of his than I thought. He's missed.

I like the bass on All Down the Line and also on Fool to Cry.

Surprised no one mentioned "Satisfaction". The line he does that creeps up and down supports the guitar riff and Charlie's great drumming. Classic Bill. Miss the old guy something fierce.

I'm 5'10" and I was looking up at Taylor standing right next to him, but 6'3" still seems an inch or two tall.

Lots of good ones already, but I have to add In Another Land and the Brian Jones-like touch he gives to Heaven on synth.

'Bass on Git Yer Ya Yas Out... so many great bass lines on that album.'- Tombstone Shadow.

His bass on the live 'Live With Me' is thrilling.

Everything from "Tatoo You". I first noticed it the other day in my car with "Hang Fire" (I assume he's playing on that one).

He played steady rock n' roll bass and added a certain toch of flair to it too. He confirmed the Stones as a rock n' roll band. Nowadays they have a bass player who plays funk, which isn't really what the Stones are about.

Correction (from above): Touch is the correct word, not toch!

In Another Land is classic, I also like the way he placed his cigarette onto the neck of his guitar to stand up while he played and pointed out chicks in the audience for security to bring backstage.

bill is sorely missed ! darryl jones is boring in comparison and seems to look at keith all the time for praise that he's doing allright

i recently got new earphones and they are a lot bassier than the old ones and it is a joy to listen to bill , on ya ya's especially ! during love in vain he plays more notes than both guitarists combined!!! wonderful
