How about a Duet Project?
Posted by: trainarollin ()

Rolling Stones have never done a Duet project, re-recording the vocal tracks and have Mick trade lines with the likes of:

Tom Waits
Willie Nelson
Tori Amos
Billy Gibbons
Hootie
Lemmy Kilmister
Chris Robinson
Johhny Hickman
Joe Cocker

etc...

Those duet projects do well especially at holiday time. You get the idea....any song and guest suggestions? This could be interesting?

Mick and Joe Cocker doing "Worried About You" ???? Joe yelling "Baby" over and over...could be classic or really suck?

Nah... I'd rather hear more Mick 'n'Keith duets... Including hugs and brotherly love!

The duet with David Bowie on Dancing in the Streets was rather sexy, I think... Great tune, too.

Never do this. Bad idea. A single guest vocal spot on an album is cool. But a whole duets album??? Of course I could be surprised by it being good, but the idea sounds bad.

Excellent idea. Dave Matthews would be a great choice considering his guest spot on B2B. George Michael and Mick Jagger could probably do some proper singing and dancing together. That'd be the ultimate musical collaboration if ya ask me.MEZ

and Ay ay baby it hurts

well I think that ship has sailed.......is Mick even permitted contractually on stage when Keith does his solo set?????...........

In that time, Mick and Tina were great.

NO duets with the exception of Mick and Keith, and only if Keith is in top form..

I also think it's cheesy and disrespectful to have today's talent singing on split screen etc. with dead artists.

And, furthermore, the thought of Jagger and George Michaels on stage together is fairly frightening.

I long for the gig where Jagger will sing some of the early stuff, like "Confession the Blues" or even him and Keith working up a really dynamite "Harlem Shuffle. I prefer the Stones when they're enjoying their deepest roots. So obviously I'm not a stadium or fireworks fan.

If it worked for Ian Stewart it works for me. To quote the Beatles, once in awhile boys, could you just "GET BACK"

Somehow a credible reworking of @#$%& Blues comes to mind....

Or what about Michael Jackson & Jagger teaming up once again for Child Of The Moonwalk....

:-)

i'm just suprised Mick hasn't approached Marilyn Manson or Slipknot,
for a duets album.
We know how he likes to appear trendy and at-one with 'yoof'.
(see , or rather please don't, the Timberlake fiasco)

Duets albums are the grave yard shift when all inspiration is lost.

After ABB the Stones certainly don't need to consider it.

wasn't much inspiration on ABB, dude.

- but hey, thats another topic, for another thread, on another day! :-)
