Songs you wished the Stones had written.

Diamond dogs - David Bowie
Knock on wood - Eddy Floyd
Rebel Rebel - David Bowie
Hot legs - Faces
Pink - Aerosmith

Those songs would have made great Stones songs. I bet they were an inspiration to the tunes in the first place...

As a game, for fun, but also some seriousness in it...
"Jag Vaknade Upp" the crisp Dag Vag-tune;
vocals by Keef, (= I woke Up, after the coconut incident).
Best song written & performed any category for at least fifteen years.

....Must have been the ninth life he spent, right?

Even though Smokey wrote many of the great Motown tracks, it was Norman Whitfield who penned this one.

beast of burden...Yep spot on my friend..Whitfield did pen it

BUT in 1966 Smokey cut the original demo
or guide track for other Motown artists
to follow. Glady's Knight cut it first
in 1967 then Whitfield took Marvin
Gaye into the studio and cut the classic
or most famous version in 1968.

Smokey's version with an extra lead vocal
track dubbed on can be heard on the Special
Occasion album...but if ya want the original
from 1966 then get yaself onta....

Shooting Star- Bad Company.
Turn The Page- Bob Seger.
Like A Rolling Stone- Bob Dylan.

Limbostone, i think "Diamond dogs", "Rebel Rebel" and "Hot legs" are -how to say- typical 70s Stones songs!! My favorite Bowie's album is "Diamond Dogs"- glad to see that we agree on it...

We Had It All - T Seals/D Fritts. Keith's demo version from 1979 is just beautiful.
Drift Away - Dobie Gray. Now that would be a warhorse!

and It's Only Rock and Roll which was actually written by The Faces.

"You Could Be Mine" by GNR

....is the best Keith Richards song he never wrote.

Would have been a perfect follow-up to "Little T & A," IMHO!
