Ah I have friends very nearby within walking distance who have car parking spaces.

NickB...you'll have to stay clear of the pub, if you're driving back after the show. Unless you're planning on staying clear of the police instead.

the stage is going up as i write this- extra cranes
(not South Stand construction cranes) visible this morning, when i walked past.
Lots of noise and general business.

Buy a zones 1-5 travelcard fo your trip to Twickenham (Twickers is in zone 5) from London- it's the most economical way of getting around- and for just over a fiver, its not a bad deal.

Adrian-L:
I'm sorry to bother you, it was probably asked somewhere else, but with a 1-5 travelcard you can also take the train to Twick from Waterloo as that seems to be the best way to get to the Cabbage Patch :-)?
Thank you in advance

you're not bothering me- ask away- pleased to help.

yes a zones 1-5 travelcard is what you need for a return journey from Waterloo-Twickenham.

a Zones 1-5 travelcard can be bought at any railway station in London, and can be used within these zones. Waterloo (and all of central London is in Zone 1.)
Twickenham is in Zone 5.
a daily zones 1-5 travelcard will cost you about £5 - £5.50

If I buy the "one day - all zone" travelcard, may I travel from the Waterloo station to Twickenham by the train (British Railways) ? So I dont need to by trainticket at Waterloo ??

yes- its a one day, all inclusive, ticket...
but you only need Zones 1-5 for Twickenham... you may be charged more money
for 'all zones'- (zones 1-6)

Adrian-L is right. It's what I'll be getting, though it's going to cost me aboout £10 because I'm travelling from outside London.

Yes, A1 on Sunday, I will try and stifle them though :-))

I'm not there on Tuesday the wallet wouldn't stretch that far :-( So you should be safe.
A3 - very nice!

What do you reckon to A1 - is it OK for the sound?

Stage going up!! Yeah.....can't wait for Sunday! I love this pre-show excitement, it's even more intense after losing Paris and Brussels.

Looking forward to driving past beautiful Don Valley on my way to work and seeing the stage going up all next week.

Oily.

There'll probably be whole bunch of extra trains laid on from Twickenham sation after the gig, back to the various london connection points. That's what happened last time anyway. Just stroll down to thr Station and onto the next train. they weren't even asking you to buy a ticket .They just want folks gone ;^)
[We'd travelled up by train and had valid tickets anyway. Wouldn't have bought returns If I'd known ;^)]

Question for ya? Whats it like taking a camera phone into the gigs? Do security give you hassle?
No photography was allowed at the Who in Bristol.....

Spud suggests just stroll down to the station at Twickenham after the concert as there are plenty of trains.
24th August 2003 - after the concert and being early down to the train station we had to wait for at least 4/5 trains before heading for Waterloo.
This was a Sunday night and it was after well after midnight arriving at Waterloo then trying to get a bus or taxi into Central London proved frustrating and it was 01.15p.m. before we arrived back in Oxford Street.
If you are looking for some drinks pray that your Hotel Bar has stayed open which is unlikely or visit the Clubs where they charge you a fortune for entry and then at least £3.50 for a bottle of beer.
