Bill Clinton's charity birthday party is a good move by The Stones, just like "Sweet Neo Con" was. Through election fraud and what not, right-wingers have hijacked the US democracy, and it's time for everyone, also The Stones, to stand up against this. Bill and Hillary are "normal" politicians, Bush & Co are extremists and thugs.

Isn't it funny that the Bush bashing on this thread is not considered political, but that pointing out bad business moves and alienating half your fan base is. So much for no political threads.

Beely, I await your 2 page retort about it this isn't really selecetive outrage because you views are right and those who hold opposing views are idiots.

Perhaps my post is stretching the "no political discussions"-policy. But because of e.g. "Sweet Neo Con" and the birthday concert, The Stones themselves are not non-political. And it's hard to write about the political side of The Stones, without saying something political.

for all posters implying that there have been no "theatre" shows i remind you of...
the pheonix in toronto, radio city in nyc and the national theatre in shanghai. why do you try to blame cohl et al for everything? the best team in the world for bringing the stones to as many fans as possible all around the world. sounds like alot of misplaced anger to me. get over yourselves fing crybabies

Gazza, you make some good points, I respect your POV. There is a lot of narcicism involved with this event and I can see how that would be annoying. but overall, it just doesnt bother me that much. at least the money is going towards a charity.

nope...not available for fan club members...it was a club show as they always do before a tour where you got a ticket if you were lucky enough to be in town when they went on sale and you were to queue.

radio city in nyc

nope again. The press conference (and rs.com) specifically mentioned theatre shows at $50 a ticket. watch or listen to it again. Remind me again of the prices for this show which had very limited public availability?

and the
> national theatre in shanghai.

yeah we could all get to that one easy enough. An 8,000 seater venue is not exactly a theatre. And with ticket prices which cost the average local about 3 months salary. hardly what was promised at Juilliard, wouldnt ya think?

It's not about one's political bent to me (Demos and Reps are equally inept @#$%&). It's about the band forgetting us fans for the (shoulda been the CD's name) Bigger Bucks.

oh yeah-you're right gazza. numba one fan. you'd prolly hate them unless they play for 2 quid in your living room, then you'd still complain about the setlist.

youre the one making yourself out to be the uberfan, sonny, not me. Suggest you go and join the Taliban or something. Theyre as good at twisting logic and taking liberties with reality as you are. seems youre the "crybaby", more than anyone

I'll be seeing them in 5 countries this year, so yeah, I guess I hate them a hell of a lot
