I'm in the process of updating the setlists page which youve quoted above, and making a few corrections. see this link for the breakdown of total shows up to the end of 2005 - [
rocksoff.org]
The total number of shows as of the end of the 2003 tour, based on info provided from other excellent sources such as Aeppli, Zentgraf and Karnbach was 1,910.
Its important to define first of all what a 'concert' is. I simply define it as a Rolling Stones concert or a concert/festival where the Stones were part of the bill. For the purposes of that list, I dont count guest appearances on TV/radio shows, so stuff like the MTV Awards and even the Superbowl dont count. The performance at Juilliard last year does, however. Ive decided not to count video shoots where they jammed between takes such as Bagleys Warehouse 1995, St Marks Bar and Grill 1981, Bains Douches, Paris 1983 etc.
So, the 90th concert of the Bigger Bang tour will be concert #2,000 IF those figures are correct (and obviously one has to allow for some margin of error as its conceivable that some shows - especially in the early days - may have been unaccounted for, or even announced but did not take place)
The 2005 leg of the tour featured 44 shows, including Juilliard and the warm-up show in Toronto. The North & South American leg in 2006 consisted of 22 shows (excluding the Superbowl) followed by ten more shows in Asia, Australia and New Zealand, bringing the total to 1,986 prior to the European leg.
So, the 14th show in Europe should be #2,000 - which is El Ejido on August 16th, unless my maths are a bit off!
