You know, the consensus seems to be that Keith is getting better each show on this Europe leg, but not that he is playing better than he did pre-palm tree. I was actually at Paris and Amsterdam. But, I was sick as a dog at Paris, and couldn't appreciate it, although I enjoyed Rambler. My friend, who has been to four shows on this tour, said that it was great, and I believe her. At Amsterdam, I thought that Keith was in the best spirits that I have ever seen him, laughing and smiling throughout the show, but his solos were very safe and pedestrian, if that's the right term. I thought Ronnie was the stronger performer. To be fair to Keith, from FOS center, his guitar was not that clear from where I was standing, and the sound was echoing all over the place, which made it hard to hear (and probably, hard for him to play). I'll be at Twickenham on 8/20, so we'll see how that goes. Don't get me wrong, the Stones are still the only band I will board an inter-continental flight for, that's for sure.
