Is this really worth getting? I've never listened to a Mick Jagger solo album before and I'm kind of worried that if I get this all the songs will sound like Streets of Love. But I've heard some good things about it. Quality wise, is it as good as a Stones' albums or at least almost as good?

Personally to me, it ranks in the TOP 5 Rock ALbums of the 90s...maybe even of all times. I love that album.

A fine record, if somewhat frustrating when you think what the Stones as a band could have done with the best of the songs on that and Keith's even more excellent "Main Offender", which came out 3 months earlier.

Oh yeah. Ronnie. I forgot Ronnie completely. Certainly his first album is right up there too.

Gaz: You think Main Offender is that good? I'm surprised....

it was completely re-written by Mick before the release as the manager of Atlantic listened to a first work and was not happy with it.
Mick worked hard on this album and it is great !!

you gave me an idea. now i come back home to watch the 93 Webster hall concert on my big screen.

Mick is the best.

Great album, best Stones-related one since Tattoo You as many have said.

I keep hearing that Jagger and producer Rick Rubin didn't get along during the making of this - does anyone have any details or perhaps a link to more information?

Get it and Main Offender--they're both better than anything the Stones have done from the 90s on.

Do you have more on this? Who was this "manager"? I can't imagine a studio head having the nuts to say that.

some lovely stuff on this record, great fast rockers, a great country song in "evening gown" and "angel in my heart" will make you ball your eyes out. yes it is good and he has come along way since she's the boss. I really like primitive cool, it is a great rockin record but goddess in the doorway is really good, it is jagger pouring his heart out for once, I like every song except the title track, how ironic, just cause richards called it dog crap in the doorway everyone wrote it off, take a good listen it is deep and powerful.I also love keith do not get me wrong, I seen him in detroit with the winos in 88 and again in vancouver at the queen elizabeth theatre in 92 or 93? anyway he is great solo also but together they are rock and roll and still rollin!
" you use to be my number one"

I think so . Primitive Cool is #1 then Wandering Spirit with a tie between Goddess In The Doorway And She's The Boss . The soundtrack from Alfie ain't too bad either . I just guess I like almost whatever any of the guys puts out . Some take a little getting used to . But all have some redeeming qualities .
