This is a gem. May be a simple oldie but beautiful indeed! It has to be played someday. Hopefully in a stripped 2 environment on barstools. Anybody else love this overlooked neglected jewel. Many nonfans that hear it say its boring and nothing special. I feel like whacking them for those comments! MEZ

Its a lovely song. Theres a very moving moment in 25x5 when they play it over the news footage of Brian Jones' funeral and I've always associated it with that ever since
Gazza yes I remember that poignent moment. Is that how you spell that big word? But really perfect choice of song to play with that footage. Would be nice to hear it in an unplugged intimate theater setting eh? MEZ

I like this one too. Like you said: simple...oldie...beautiful. I think this is one of those that Mick throws into the "ancient," not-relevant-anymore category: much like "She Smiled Sweetly" (which was played only once on Licks) in that they are both simple, but delightful little ballads.
Great song, off course it Reminds everyone of Brian.I love it the most when I'm listening to Decembers Children all the way through.Very english pop ,It would be a miracle if Mick even thinks of this song...
You are right southbound train. I had forgotton they played that once. It sounded great. I'm actually shocked they played it that once esp ,since Mick stated more than once, he thinks most of between buttons stinks. Who persuaded Mick to play She Smiled Sweetly (Chuck? Keith? Ronnie?). I wonder. Well, since they played that, there is always hope for Blue Turns To Grey. Actually I would of thought, if asked, what had more of a chance to be played? I would of bet heavily on Blue turns To Grey over She Smile Sweetly by a long shot. Guess we never do really know then do we? Someone shout to Chuck from the close seats for Blue Turns To Grey!!!! Maybe they'll play it just a once like Sweetly! MEZ
Not sure on show someone posted it appox 6 months ago. Sounded quite good. Still can't believe they actually played it. So un-Mick like to pick this button oldie this once. Someone must of persuaded him for some unknown reason!

It's because that director Wes Anderson used it in a recent movie, dusting it off and giving the song a more modern-day relevance. Mick even mentioned that before they played it that one time; he probably did so to help people remember the song, who saw the movie. Wes also used "2000 Man" in his 1996 "Bottle Rocket" movie and man what a treat it would be to hear that song; they should have played it on the b-stage during the '99 tour for reasons of timeliness.

You are absolutely correct, this is an adorable song. A true gem and one that deserves an airing.
I've always loved that song and when I think of it, I usually think of " The Singer Not The Song" because when I was really young and had the album out, I played one tune after the other! Now THAT would be a moment in time- The Stones on the B Stage doing a little unplugged set with those 2 tunes and " She Smiled Sweetly!"Wed all pass out cold! Never gonna happen.
